That game was so awesome. All the worlds had such a cool feel to them. I would actually love to live there and race around in my little car, hoverboat and plane:love:

So any games you would like to live in?

Oh yeah....it's been a while since i played it....you know lke ten fricking years. I may edit the title if i can be arsed.

Hyrule would be pretty sweet. I'd probably end up nailing that little fishy princess though, regret it the next day, not call her again and have her fat fishy dad putting some kind of bounty on my head:nono:

When I saw the title of this thread, I thought I'd missed out on some Mario Kart-esque game with a hip-hop soundtrack :o

I wanted to live in Zelda OoT's world the second I seen the opening shot of Link riding in Hyrule Fields. And for a day I fantasized about living in Kingdom Heart's Traverse Town.

I still have my 64 and that game. I need to hook it back up to my TV now that I am without other console.

I traded in Diddy Kong.

What the hell was I thinking. I'm kicking myself now.

I hated that game. No as good as Mario Kart

Mario Kart 64: Inferior.

Diddy Kong Racing: Superior.

I liked DKR more than MKR. The levels were cooler.. the fact that you could choose one of 3 different vehicles was great. It opened up a whole new aspect of the game with new levels too, as some of them were restricted to certain vehicles.

DKR pissed all over MK64.

I loved the SNES MK but the 64 version never earned the love. DKR however will always have a special place in my heart.

I think part of the reason is because it was so hard to beat. Wiz Pig was a son of a bitch. And for beating such a difficult end race.....you were rewarded with a shit load more awesome races:y:

In addition I would also like to live in Jade Empire.....minus the monsters and all.

I used to love that game.

I hated that game. No as good as Mario Kart
Totally agree. Ever since Diddy Kong Racing was release on the N64, everyone said it was better than Mario Kart but I thought it was pretty rubbish. Mario Kart is alot better.

I'd like to live in Hyrule btw.

Oh man.. living in Jade Empire. That game was beautiful.

As for a game I would live in.. EVE Online. I love sci-fi, and it would be a very cool world to live in. Space travel, mining, space pirates, huge corporations that take over half the galaxy. Corporation politics. It's set up perfect to actually be lived in.. so that would be my choice.

i miss rare :(

Rare '94-'99 were the golden years. Those guys, back then, showed us what a first party developer should be all about; Killer Apps one after the other. Blast Corps was rubbish, though.

Requiem
05-30-2007, 01:53 PM
Was Blast Corps that sort of free run game where you destroyed stuff?

I kinda like that game actually, but I don't think you could replay it was the problem. I didn't know how to reset it and start over. =(

Mr Regal
05-30-2007, 02:14 PM
Didn't Microsoft buy Rare for an absolutely ridiculous amount of money?

Y2Ant
05-30-2007, 02:22 PM
WTF Blast Corps was awesome, you wash your mouth out.

DKR was far, FAR better than MK64, no question. And the SNES MK was indeed the best, never got a chance to get into the GC one though cause this fag I lent it to never gave it back.

Just bought DKR DS today, gonna be playing this at work now

Y2Ant

Also Tiptup is indeed the best character in the game.

05-30-2007, 02:29 PM
mario kart will always be better than DKR no matter how you slice it. you just have that illusion because of the three different forms of transportation.

yes rare was bought for $$$$. however most of the good people there left to form free radical, which made time splitters, so that should say enough right there.

now you know why rare puts out shit now, and gold years ago.

I can give more reasons for DKR's superiority than you can about MK64's. It's been like that for years; Mario Kart 64 is regarded as better on franchise loyalty alone. DKR is technically superior (visuals, overall gameplay engine) and it tries to do something with the genre MK did not. MK64 is a better looking SNES MK.

Requiem

I am gonna go hook up my 64 right now and play either DKR, or OoT.

My N64 died on me:(

05-30-2007, 06:08 PM
Who cares about DKR Vs MK64? It's all about the DS versions now, and MK comes up top easily.

Mr Regal
05-30-2007, 06:38 PM
I think you will find the entire discussion so far has been about DKR64 and MK64 you cretin.

Kalyx triaD
05-30-2007, 06:45 PM
True enough, and ironically, MK beats DKR on DS. If Rare weren't so experimental with the touch pad and made it more an update (or even a sequel) rather than a port it would've killed MK like days of old.

I liked Diddy Kong Racing, but never loved it. My best friend at the time had it, so we played it quite a bit. I preffered Mario Kart 64 at the time. Maybe now, while I'm all Mario Karted out, I'd enjoy Diddy Kong Racing more.

Nice to see all the TipTup love.

I'd love to live in the Mushroom Kingdom and hang out with Toad. I'd also like to live in Tamagotchi land because everything has a face. I loves me anthropomorphasism.
