View Full Version : Weird people you mark for

The One

Mine is Marcus Cor Von/Monty Brown. I've always liked him. I don't know why, I just enjoy him. His style is shit, yet I enjoy it. His mic work is laughable, yet I love it. He's spazztic, yet so cool to me. Who's your guy you mark for even though every logical brain cell let in your skull tells you that you should hate him?

In terms of people we should hate couldnt we just say anyone that Vince pushes as a heel? An example would be Edge. At the rate that the roles are being pushed onto us, there should be voices in our heads telling us who to cheer for.

Despite the fact that he couldn't work his way out of a paper bag, I was a big Nathan Jones mark.

This the idea of this huge Australian convict who liked to do spinning ninja kicks...tremendous. He cut some decent promos too.

I always felt that way too. I was at a live show where they did a promo in which he told the Undertaker he liked being alone in the dark to prepare himself. The Undertaker then explained to him the importance of scouting your opponents. He could have been really good if he had had more passion for the business, and maybe given a bit more time.

Anyways, here's a good clip of the Undertaker training him.

I'll admit to being a massive Sting mark, even though most of his offense looks ridiculous and he hasn't had a good match in years. Chalk it up to nostalgia, I guess.

When I was a teenager, I was a huge mark for Dennis Knight, who was playing the part of Mideon at the time. I pretty much liked him as a big joke. I had fun with it though. I even made a "Best of Mideon" tape and it has a whole bunch of his matches from Sunday Night Heat. And one time, on an episode of Heat, he was wearing a Desert Ink tattoo muscle shirt that had a number on it...so I called it up and order me a shirt just like his so I could look like him.

No shame in liking D-lo tho, he is extremely talented both in the ring and on the mic. His work in TNA was far better as he was allowed to9 cut loose and really show what he could do.

As for me, I like Mark Henry for some reason.

Monty Cor Von Brown, D'Lo Brown, X-Pac (I just can't hate him!), Alex Shelley (I'm one of the ones who refuses to stop at 'Yeh, He's pretty good' and press on to the 'He's the next Jericho')

I'm sorry, I am a fan of Mark Henry. Everyone bashes the shit out of him and I hold my tongue. I'm not sure why I enjoy him but I think it's just the thought of a gigantic hairy black man that admits he looks like a gorilla absolutely murdering things. Also, his music is intense.

Absolutely. Dude is just badass, regardless of his in ring skill. Which actually isn't that bad for a guy his size. The "I'm gonna rape you" face permanantly etced into his face helps as well.

It's not quite the same, but I mark out when I see Taker do the "Pop up" bit.

Why is this weird? Because I haven't been interested in Taker for like a decade.

I like Scotty. Never popped for him, but I figured I'd mention him.

Bossman was badass.

I like Monty, but mostly because he's unintentionally hilarious. He's like Warrior, only funny ha ha, not funny sad.
