Woah 91
Anyway yeah well who's fault is it bringing on Veron. Sure as hell ain't Verons. Let's be honest its not like any of the Chelsea players were on their game in the second half - if hes half fit at least he has an excuse. Seriously he would do a wayward pass and all the commentators were all over him whereas all the other shit Chelsea players were doing wasn't half as highlighted.

Ranieri made some bad decisions but Veron should have done better anyway,i mean he gave the ball away on a few occasions near Chelsea's penalty area and hardly made any accurate passes.IMO he was too slow on the ball.
Fair enough it wasn't a good game to bring him into given his fitness levels but they must've been proved, and seeing as it was a big game he should have upped his performance,in his favoured position or not.
One plus is Crespo's form i guess,though i doubt that's much consolation.

Unlucky for Chelsea although i don't think it should be too hard to turn around in the 2nd leg!
Loved the 'Are You Watching Arsenal' chants!!
Taking off Melchiot for a striker was a big mistake - especially at 1-1 when a draw would have been enough! Get rid of Melchiot IMO..he was poor and had a dire game last week against us (i'm a Villa fan - flame me if you will!!)

Yeah I forgot what a greta example Manchester United players set  , especially Gary Neville Vs Manchester City
Well, they are no worse then the following -
Eric Cantona Vs Crystal Palace
And Andrei Kanchelskis in the 94 cup final dived, but of course you would over look that
McCLair kicking the shit out of the Arsenal player on the floor (I think it was the first season of the Premiership)
And or course, the United players (Inspired by Roy Keane) who chase ref's around the pitch.
You lot are a fu</>cking disgrace, Makelele did no worse then other players, I.E Lee Henderie against Newcastle, that is the latest example of someone play acting. And everygame Ashley Cole plays in he play acts too.
Put your toys back in your pram pal.
Play acting to get players sent off is a disgrace. Make any excuse you want.
I do agree with you Rob, what Makelele did was out of order, I'm just saying that United players aren't any better.
Besides, raising your hands is a sending off offence. Look at football365.com, they know their shit, and they like to slate teams as much as they can. The guy deserved toi be sent off, for starting on Makelele and then raising his hand. Makelele was a total disgrace I agree, but the sending off was appropriate.

Yeah lets face it, it was MElchiots goal for the penalty, it was him that conceded a needless throw for the second goal, and it was probably him that didn't close down Hitzspeilger for he third.
Did you watch the Villa Vs Newcastle game on T.V? If so, I'm guessing thats the reason you didn't flame Makelele, what with Lee Henderie being just as bad.
If a Man United player acted up like Makelele did then I'd be the first to admit he was wrong.
If the sending off was appropriate then where was Makelele's red card? He clearly slapped him in the face before he dived.
What about that Ron Simmons elbow smash? Oops sorry it was Marcel Desially elbowing Fernando Morientes in the face.

I gotta admit both Hendrie and Makelele deserved to be sent off...Hendrie really needs to calm down, he's not exactly the fans favourite (he's a Birmingham fan for gods sake)..getting sent off isn't going to help him at all!
Its the same with Makelele i guess....he has his 16million price tag to live up to...behaving like this is doing him no favours!!

Monaco look a great side and Morientes has really impressed me over those two legs (Fergie...take a look!). Great to see Chelsea go out after all of that money they've spent.
Support the English sides in Europe? MY ARSE.
Looking forward to the final now. Should be a good match.
He wasn't offside because Wayne Bridge was on the line. And it was handball, but no one saw that until the sixth angle they showed it from, so I can't blame the ref or <s>linesman</s> assistant ref. Morientes was indeed the man, just like in the first leg, and just like against Real Madrid. You want to know the difference between the two sides? We had nine GREAT (well eight and gronkjaer's "cross") chances and scored two, they had three GREAT chances, and scroed two.
End of the day, we could have won it, we wasted chances, Monaco were the better team over the two legs, they cam to the Bridge knowing exactly what they had to do, and they did it. It would have been nice if Eidur Gudjohnsen could prove me wrong and do something right, really, what the hell was that miss that hit the cross bar all about? and when he messed up his technique at the start of the second half.
I'm not going to harp on because their is nothing else to say, except, Ranieri out? fu</>ck off, semi finals of the Champions League, and second in the league (Probably), even if we came third in the league I would still back him. He has exceeded everyone but Abramovich and Kenyon's expectations. Any Chelsea fan that says Ranieri should go, should remember that the prgoress we have made under him is great, (even if Abramovich did make it easier) and he has a great relationship with the team. I will say what I have said for months, give him till Christmas.
And for fu</>ck sake sell Gudjohnsen, Gronkjaer, Melchiot, Hasselbaink, Makelele and Petit.
I bet at 2-0 we had you all believing we were going to do it, ;).

And couldnt agree with you more Dazz - Despite all the signings you still lack a world class striker. Sure the ones you have are good (Forsell being the best?) (and then there's Gudjohnsen :() but none in the bracket of say Henry, Shevchenco or Ronaldo or dare I say it even RVN.

Imagine this: We had sold Beckham for...I don't know £15 million and got Morientes as well. They wanted to get rid of him so badly last summer that they let him **** off to Monaco on LOAN for a season and look what's happened to them since.
Sheer quality and options up front with Saha, RvN, Morientes and Ole. Four top-quality strikers again... *guess I can only dream* (Fernando Torres from At.Madrid's another one I like the look of).
Good scenario, but imagine this, Roman Abramovich realises that Morientes is the man and chuck like £20million at Real Madrid.
Still, 2 years ago I wanted Morientes, when he was linked with SPurs, 8mil we could have got him for, sometimes I think I should be manager

Crespo has showed what he can do, and he has been our best attacker IMO.
We were in shit before Abramovich came, only difference now is that we have a £1.5mil a week wage bill, and most of our players are there for the money, I can't see them taking pay cuts.

At least if he ever did pull the plug, you now have assets you can sell.
For the record, I'm predicting that not only will Porto win the final, but it'll be a penalty (during the game or a shoot out) that decides it. Just thought I'd pass that on while I have the chance before the final.
At least if he ever did pull the plug, you now have assets you can sell.
Yes, but some players will not leave, as they wont get the same wages. Seriously, Bogarde hasn't played int he first team or over two years, and he has had chances to leave, but hasn't, because he claims he wants to 'prove he is the best centre back in the world', yeah right, £40,000 to train with the youth team and not get a squad number does him nicely. I can see some people not going, because they won't get as good a deal, could you imagine 15 high wages earners, (and we're talking stpuid amount of money) All leaving in a summer if Abramovich leaves. £1.5 million a week our wages are :|.
Monaco to win the final, 2-1.
Wengerland
05-10-2004, 04:44 PM
If that was to happen and Abramovich left then i'm sure most of the high earners would go,due to them having to accept wage drops or even not getting paid.
If that was to happen and Abramovich left then i'm sure most of the high earners would go,due to them having to accept wage drops or even not getting paid.
I think that it is their choice to accept wage drops, and not the clubs to force them. Lampard, Terry, Cudicini are like the only people that would accept wage drops, the rest of them are greedy.
So did I and I'm sticking with them too. Half time now and it's still 0-0 so it's looking good for them.

Also another terrible decision on Man of the Match - Deco did fuck all apart from his goal.

Morinho looks like he is definately going to Chelsea within the week.
Told you Porto would win. Granted, I didn't expect them to whack Monaco that badly, but I still told you. Good for them too, nice to see a little variation in the winners, I was starting to get bored of Real winning it every other year (since I'm keeping with the trend of calling teams to win things that haven't won anything in years, Italy for Euro 2004 - you heard it here first).
