View Full Version : Does anyone know anymore about this?

Apparently recently, the WWE decided to put a ban on all high-flying moves, like the Shooting Star Press, so at a house show, Paul London decided to bust one out in protest. I don't have a source, I'm just reading a column over on 411mania.com that talks about it and him possibly leaving the WWE/being released.
If London did that, while I respect his willingness to fight the system, he is not making it easy on him and Kendrick to catch the break they arguably deserve. If London and Kendrick end up in ROH feuding with The Briscoes, I will be a happy man, though. :y:

London should think whats more important. A wrestling move or his flipping pay check.

London did it on Smackdown, and was told by Vince that if he did it again he would be fired.

I think he would do really well in the X-Division.

Come on, no body does well in the X-Division.

If it's true, he is a fucking dumbass. Protest of Move < Pay Check.

Though, somewhat sad as I have recently just been actually sold on him and Kendrick being a legit tag team.

They shoulda banned kidman from doing it the instant they seen how badly he executed the shooting star. Practically every time he done that move he always landed at weird angles, also as we know injured a few people. Dunno why that was used as his finisher if he could barely even do it. :wtf:

Fuck, I worded it differently in my head. I meant to say the WWE is continuing its ban. They put one on back when Kidman damn near killed Chavo with his shitty move, and they're deciding to keep it up (apparently).

Kidman's still around. He performed at a show here in Sydney just last week. This is the International Assault show I mentioned to you, Alienoid.
I don't remember him doing the shooting star press, but he did bust out the BK bomb and a sweet running dropkick from the floor to the apron onto his opponent who was tied up in the ropes (that was difficult to explain but I think you get the idea), but that was about it in his high-flying style. Looks like he works more of a mat-wrestling style now.

I think they were just being douches by asking where Kidman is, but thanks for providing the info anyway. :y:
Kidman working a mat-based style is probably good for him, what with the injuries he's had over the years.
By the way, how was that International Assault show?

The dropkick thing sounds like what Milano Collection A.T. does.

Ah... well, I kind of feel like a dumbass now, I thought it was a serious question.
The show was great. I might make a thread to give my thoughts on the whole event. I don't want to hi-jack this thread.

I've heard of Milano, but I've never seen any of his matches, so I can't tell you if that's the same one.

Didn't they report the same story with London or someone else at the same time, though?
I'm being serious here, by the way. I could swear I read this almost verbtatim on here or possibly on another newsboard with a little more credibility (I'd trust Pat Boone with the news before Matt Boone).

No, you're absolutely right. Something like this did happen with Paul London. As Pepsi Man dug up, London tried to talk to Vince about the ban on his finishing moves, the 450 Splash and the Shooting Star Press, so Vince had him drop the Cruiserweight Title to Nunzio.
What this new story is about, I think, is Vince continuing the ban, and London being pissed off the WWE has outgrown it, yet, and protesting it. I haven't seen it discussed anywhere but a single column on 411mania.com, though, so I'm a little unsure of whether or not it is accurate.

It does seem a little late to be protesting it, but otherwise, it seems too believable to be a Matt Boone story.
