So the rules are simple. List three wrestlers, and have other people guess what they have in common.
Tazz
Kevin Nash
Ludvig Borga
Now I'm too lazy to sit here and say if people are right or wrong so I'll just put the answer in black below.
---------------------------------------------
All three men ended someone's undefeated streak. Tazz ended Angle's, Nash ended Goldberg's, and Borga ended Tatanka's.
---------------------------------------------
Have fun :p

Uh, No...those are the only three people to do it. Unless you get fucking technical in which case the old (and not WWE owned I might add) WWF Light-Heavyweight Championship was a part of the J-Crown Championship which Shinjiro Ohtani and Ultimo Dragon won and also won the WCW Cruiserweight Title. The problem is that the old Light-Heavyweight Title and the Light-Heavyweight Title that eventually was unified with the Cruiserweight Title are NOT the same titles, nor do they share the same lineage.
Just like the WWE United States Championship of today (currently held by MVP) has NO connection whatsoever with the WWWF United States Championship from back in the early 70's. So, I win, you lose, let's everyone do the wave while sitting at your computer in honor of me. Yeaaaaa!

I'm unsure what the break in lineage is for? That belt was a sactioned WWF title right? The only difference between the one in Japan and the US is that the WWF asked for it back?
The One
06-07-2007, 12:15 PM
It's not the same Title. In a fake sport, the promoter as creative rights to use their titles whoever they see fit, and despite having the same name, WWE had said time and time again, and continues to say on their website, that TAKA was the first WWE Light-Heavyweight Champion. Like I said, if you think they don't have the right to use the same name for two different titles at different times, then you must have a problem with WWE United States Championship not being connected to the United States Championship from the 1970's. It's not the same belt, and furthermore WWE didn't even have control of the belt, and the J Crown was an entirely NEW Championship that just happen to mean you carried around 8 title belts. It was all gimmicky, but trust...they are not the same title.

Suggestion, replace Essa Rios with Jerry Lynn...hell that's even the same title belt.

The anwser to my David Von Erich, Ted Dibiase, and Rick Steiner question was all 3 at one point were promised to be NWA World Champ, but never got the chance. (Von Erich passed away a couple months before he won it, Crockett demanded for Flair to have a long reign when the other promoters wanted Dibiase to have a reign as champ, and Rick Steiner was going to beat Ric Flair to win the NWA title at Starrcade 88 but Flair decided to stay put with the NWA instead of going to the WWF)

OK, that's like putting three wrestlers in a group and saying they all held either the WWE European Title or the RoH World Title. They have NO, absolutely NO connection with each other.

Great point One as your the expert on title lineages, but why did WCW always claim their lineage dated back to the early 1900's?
The One
06-09-2007, 03:20 PM
Because they were crack heads. To be fair, if people didn't pay attention I could see how they might get away with it since Ric Flair won the WCW World Title in the same match that he won back the NWA World Title, but the NWA and the WCW were not the same title. INFACT they even seperated the title winners on WCW programming, and then when WCW left the NWA they gave Flair (who was the NWA Champ at the time) the WCW International World Title. Trust me, WCW did all they could to try to take NWA's lineage, but they simply never, NEVER had rights to it. Just like TNA has ZERO connection to the NWA Title anymore.

Chris Benoit - World Champion who won the World Tag Titles
Goldberg - United States Champion who won the World Title
Dudleys - WCW Tag Champions who won the WWE Tag Titles
All of them have won a second title belt during one of their reigns, I can't say they were all double Champions as the Dudleys' match was to unify the two titles and Goldberg was forced to vacate the US Belt once he won the World...but you get what I'm going for here...
That's correct, so I'm going to pay it. That wasn't actually what I had in mind when I listed them, though. Great connection you found, though. As I said, you rule this game. :y:

They've all lost at WrestleMania?

Triple H, Bobby Lashley, and Goldust....
They all changed their finishing moves without changing the names. There's a video on youtube where Triple H makes his WWF (as it was known at the time) debut and does a crappy diamond cutter. Hayes calls it the pedigree.
No, Hayes called it the Pedigree Pandemonium.

Getting Warmer, though the Diesel match I'm thinking of was one where he was victorious.

Ric Flair
Diesel
JBL
All were in WWE Championship matches (which they entered as Champion) that did NOT go on last...
Flair/Savage took back seat to the Hogan/Sid match at 8
Diesel/Michaels took a back seat to Bam Bam/LT at 11
JBL/Cena took back seat to HHH/Batista at 21

Lord ToVo got what had to be my hardest one to date.
Here's an easier one...
Chris Jericho
Little Guido
Paul Varlens

Were all used to put Taz over as a shoot fighter? (I think Varlens was the MMA guy they used back in 96 or so...)

Must Spread Rep around...
Indeed. Taz-Varlens was a nice little sub plot in the Sabu-Taz feud.
Another easy one.
Hulk Hogan
Ultimate Warrior
Tito Santana

Hogan, Warrior and Santana were on the face team in the 'Grand Finale Match of Survival' at Survivor Series 1990. They faced Ted DiBiase, Rick Martel, Power and Glory and the Warlord in a 5vs3 handicap elimination match. Hogan and Warrior survived.
Here's my one:

Benoit wrestled in 2 title matches the same night (I-C and European Title at WM 2000 both against Angle and Jericho in Triple Threat )
Goldberg wrestled in 2 title matches the same night Nitro July 98 (Hall for U.S. Title, Hogan for World Title)
Dudley Boyzs wrestled in 2 title matches the same night ECW Tag Title vs Balls/Spike and then Dreamer/Raven

That would be correct, but again, it's not what I'm looking for. Rep, though. :y:

Backlund lost to Nash in seconds for the WWF title in 94
Yoko lost to Hogan in seconds for the WWF title in 93
HTM lost to Warrior in seconds for the I-C title in 88
