View Full Version : You know what I don't get...?
On Monday. Lawler was saying that due to the draft, Matt and Jeff Hardy might be split up.... but aren't they already on separate rosters?

I figured that when the Hardy's won the titles that Matt switched to Raw. I could easily be wrong, but either way it doesn't matter. They would and do cameo on each other's shows.

Matt has wrestled solo on Smackdown even after they won the titles.

Eh, don't get too suprised or worked up about it. Did you really expect any continuity out of the WWE right now?

Eh, don't get too suprised or worked up about it. Did you really expect any continuity out of the WWE right now?The very fact that Matt guest starred on Raw to win the titles in the first place lends to that point.
It's just funny that they confuse themselves with what they probably should have done in the first place.

Yeah Matt is still on Smackdown even after winning the tag titles.

You see, Lawler is extremely retarded, I miss the days when Heyman was on commentary, probably the best RAW has ever seen.
In all honesty, he just probably doesn't know what's going on on Smackdown.

Don't blame Lawler. I mean, that's like blaming the guy who sells the hotdogs because some fuck in the factory jerked off into the meat grinder.

Just finished watching this years royal rumble. HBK and 'Taker two last men.
Michael Cole (I believe): I didn't think I'd ever see these two go at it - or something of that effect.
Jerry Lawler: I'VE NEVER SEEN IT!
No, I think he's just forgetful in old age

lol, I remember in WCW in Slamboree 99 bulidup when Schavoine talked about Sting/Goldberg being the biggest wrestling match in the history of our sport and the 2 biggest Franchise names and how they never met. Yet Sting/Goldberg had wrestled each other countless times before, including a couple televised matches on Nitro and Thunder in 98.
JR and King are very, very fucking lucky to be who they are.
Anyone else who did as many mis-calls, fuck ups, giving out of improper information, and blatantly stupid comments would have been fired a long time ago.
Vince would've pulled anyone else off the announce table for comparing a turnbuckle to a barbecued rib, yet JR still has a fucking job every week. King's obsessed, horny rampages have gone past annoying into the realm of creepy. They're both washed up and need to be sent out to pasture.
The beautiful thing about TNA announcing, is that Mike Tenay is just about the smartest announcer in wrestling history, with a mind like an encyclopedia, and you always get both a) interesting tidbits on wrestlers and b) correct calling of moves.
Unfortunately, Tenay's knowledge comes with "THATS SO BIZARRE!!!!" which has joined "PUPPIES!!!" in the annoying-enough-to-commit-suicide-with-a-dull-butterknife category.

Well, to reuse the analogy Lawler sold me Doesn't Contain Semen brand hot dogs. It's not a monstrous screwup, obviously I thought the same thing was going on so I can't call too much bullshit. But I don't work for the WWE, wrestling isn't my job. But I have to admit that it's far from the worst thing ever said on Raw and Lawler makes mistakes much less often than Jim Ross.
Really I just find it a funny blip.
I honestly, positively, 100%, do not care that Jerry Lawler flubbed a line. :y:

And a Hot Dog Vendor would know that one guy jerked off into the meat grinder how?
Let's face it: While neither Lawler or Ross have been good at the announce table for ages, It's kind of like complaining about your neighbor's bass being too loud while the apartment is burning down around you. It's like blaming the guy at Wal-Mart for selling you a defective product, though he didn't make it, ship it, or test it. He's the end of a chain, and Lawler and Ross are currently the end of a long chain of fuckups, and so it's hard to blame them in the current environment sometimes. And in the case of the HArdyz, this is pretty obviously stupid enough to qualify.

I would like to give Jerry Lawler and the WWE the benefit of the doubt, and assume that the draft will solidify the separate rosters once again, and if Matt Hardy and Jeff Hardy are on separate brands they will not be able to team together, but I really doubt that is the case.
In this instance, Jerry Lawler was just being his usual shitty commentator self, and doesn't have a fucking clue what he is on about. As KK said, there are a long line of fuck-ups, but come on, King should still at least try to do his job properly.

I agree with you 100%. :y:
Mike Tenay is a fucking brilliant straight man, play-by-play commentator. All TNA needs to do is to do is replace Don West with someone like Raven. Scott Levy would make a fucking fantastic colour commentator, and he could add a lot to each broadcast. Tenay can call moves perfectly, and provide a lot of wrestling facts to the viewers, and Levy can just be himself, adding in humour and a personal knowledge of what it is like to be in the ring. Raven can probably add a lot about the psychology of the match, too.

Yeah, but who's to say he didn't try and do his job properly? It seems to have confused people right here...ON TPWW! *Cheap pop* And we're talking about "smarks" here. Not even casual fans. Isn't it possible that even someone in the business could get thrown by teh roster shifting, especially when they're pretending to enforce the roster split, but you have a cross-brand tag team as champs?

Ross and Lawler need to go. They're in the hall of fame, and I'm sorry, they've run their course. I can't imagine any other two commentators in WWF/E during the Attitude Era because I think they were gold back then. But now? What did the Owen Hart shirt used to say? It's Time for a Change...

I'm sure Lawler is trying to do his job properly. I'm sure JR is trying, too. I'm sure Don West is, as well. They just all suck.
I guess Lawler could be genuinely confused by what the WWE is doing, and he is allowed to make mistakes. With the common knowledge that Matt Hardy is a SmackDown! Superstar, and a RAW champion, even if he is confused, he should be asking stuff like "so JR, what brand is Matt Hardy a part of, RAW or SmackDown!?" Of course, the WWE would not be happy with that, so I guess that is a reflection on how the WWE runs things.
I'm not trying to say the WWE isn't in an awful state, but Lawler should at least know Matt is a SD! guy. So whether he made the statement under his own free will, or if it was fed to him, it was a damn retarded statement to make.

Yes, they do. Looking at the guys under WWE contract, JBL, Joey Styles, Paul Heyman, Josh Mathews, Michael Cole and Tazz are all better. Seriously, just make Joey Styles, Josh Mathews and Michael Cole the play-by-play guys, and have JBL, Paul Heyman and Tazz do colour.

I mean, if the WWE wants to get things going as best as possible, I think having the following teams would be wise:
RAW:
Joey Styles and John Bradshaw Layfield
-Joey Styles is the best play-by-play guy they have, and JBL is the most entertaining commentator they are currently using. JBL is still relevent to audiences, after holding the WWE Championship for 280 days this millennium, and I can see the two having a very good blue state/red state dynamic between them.
SmackDown!:
Josh Mathews and Paul Heyman
-Paul Heyman was a great colour commentator in 2001, and while he doesn't have experience in the ring, Josh Mathews does, so that is easily covered. Mathews is great at calling matches, and Heyman can get guys over in the booth ("GORE! GORE! GORE!"). By having him on SmackDown!, the WWE can also censor Heyman, making sure he doesn't try anything too shifty.
ECW:
Michael Cole and Tazz
-Remember when these guys were the best team in the WWE? They were fucking awesome, and almost the cult commentary connection. Michael Cole could be great if the WWE let him be the smartass we know he can be, and Tazz and he had great camaraderie. It could be seen as a promotion for Cole, as he gets to call a live show. I think he and Tazz would actually be a more ECW-esque commentary team than the current Styles and Tazz duo, despite their connection to the original.
Heat:
Joey Styles and Todd Grisham
-I thought these two worked really well together when they called Heat that one time. As Styles once said, Grisham has the kind of humour that could really make him a great colour guy. He's not too great in the calling of moves department, which is where Joey Styles comes in. They both blur the line between colour and play-by-play, really, so I can see them really helping each other fit in to the WWE style.
