War [2007] (http://imdb.com/title/tt0499556/)
... Huh... Yeah!
What is it good for?
Absolutely nothing!
Okay now that I got that out of the way, War is the new movie starring Jet Li and Jason Statham. It opens pn August 24th. Jet is the bad guy in this one and it's his first antagonist role since Lethal Weapon 4.
Synopsis:
After his partner Tom Wynne (Terry Chen) and family are killed apparently by the infamous and elusive assassin Rogue (Jet Li), FBI agent Jack Crawford (Jason Statham) becomes obsessed with revenge as his world unravels into a vortex of guilt and betrayal. Rogue eventually resurfaces to settle a score of his own, setting off a bloody crime war between Asian mob rivals Chang (John Lone) of the Triad's and Yakuza boss Shiro (Ryo Ishibashi). When Jack and Rogue finally come face to face, the ultimate truth of their pasts will be revealed.

Im willing this movie will go along the lines of this...
Statham believes Jet Lie killed his family...he tracks him down. They have multiple fights...then its revealed that Li really isnt the assassin that killed them and that Li was set up. Then both Li and Statham team up to find out who really did it.
I really hope that isnt how it goes because I would love to see a movie with these two kicking each others ass the whole time.
I don't know. I'm thinking maybe he finds out that his partner was evil or did some evil things. Since they scrapped the idea of Statham fighting Jet in "The One" which Statham was really looking forward to, expect them to have a lot of fight scenes.

I am certain this film will rule. As long as Jason Stathams american accent isn't too dodgy.

LOL...I forgot that they were both in "The One" together...but that was before Statham got his chance to show that he is one hell of an action star. But yeah...them two fighting in this movie will be pure gold. The only thing better than that will be if Jet Li fights Jackie Chan in the movie they are doing together.

No, no they haven't.
Kiss of the Dragon and Fist of Legend are two that do not involve Jet using wire work. I love the pure, raw fighting scenes where they just go at it. If you guys haven't seen Sha Po Lang aka Kill Zone with Donnie Yen and Sammo Hung the have a killer fight at the end and there are some throws and wrestling moves in said fight also.
Don't watch this if you don't want the movie to be spoiled.

One thing I love about Statham is he does all his own stunts. Major props to that.

Instead of arguing what past films did have wires you could just find out if this one does

Heard this was a big dissapointment, and that Statham and Li never really fight.
What a piece of shit movie. I went in with high hopes and I was greatly disappointed.
So that's 2 weeks of shit movies that I've see. Rush Hour 3 still takes the cake.

Just saw it yesterday...
The movie seemed like they were told they could only make like an 1hr and 50 min film. Everything that they had left to do going into the final couple minutes seemed like it was rushed just to get it out there for the people.
It wasnt a horrible movie but it was definently neither Statham or Li's best.
To be honest when the "TWIST" was revealed in the movie I felt like that Robot Chicken Star Wars segment. The one where Vader is telling Luke all those things about the force and shit..
"And the empire will be defeated by EWOKS!!!"
"Well if your not gonna try"
What Would Kevin Do?

I enjoyed the movie. It could have been better, and Li and Statham could have fought more. With that said, the "twist" didn't bother me that much, and I actually sort of like it in retrospect. Plus the actions scenes, especially the tea house scene, are nice.
I just saw it. I liked the movie and the twist but agree with Shaggy on the whole rushed thing. I don't mind that they weren't more than just one Jason/Jet fight. It wouldn't fit the movie and I don't think they should and would have sacrificed part of the story to fit that in. The key to the story is to keep Jason and Jet's character apart until the ending. I know that they met earlier but that was non-confrontational in the fighting aspect and they weren't alone so it was okay because he couldn't have revealed the secret at that point.
