Mr. Wizard jump started my obsession with learning all the obscure facts I can when I was a kid. He made learning cool; Hell, getting kids to wake up in the morning to learn something is a testament that a good teacher isn't just someone translating a text-book and getting a check.
RIP.

I saw Timmy Mallet in Swindon one christmas. He was peforming something shocking outside Argos, where i was working at the time. When I say something shocking I don't mean he was sucking off a lady boy or anything....he was singing, which was just as upsetting for the young. Anyway, we were a couple of stories above him and were trying to get a window open or get on the roof or anything, so we could hurl horrible things at him. We never achieved our goal. It still saddens me to this day. Those poor people watching....they never stood a chance:nono:

I learned more science watching him on the tube than in school.
