Alright i'm not one to usually make a thread about how many posts i've got, but 5,000 is a nice achievement...i thought i would take this time to write how i would've wanted the feud between Benoit/ Cm Punk to go, kills me that we'll never see this feud, was hyped for it. Why did benoit have to take this away from us? Anyway..what I would've done:.
At Vengeance:
Benoit beats Cm Punk after a classic 20 minute match, Cm Punk went for the Go 2 sleep finisher, but Benoit countered into a crossface. Benoit the new ECW champ.
On the next ECW, CM Punk/Benoit tag against Nitro/ Elijah burke/Marcus Cor Von, CM Punk turns his back on Benoit, Cor Von gets the pin. next week, CM Punk claims it isn't over between them and challenges Benoit, Cor Von comes out and says that after he beat Benoit, he deserves a shot, a no.1 contenders match is made which obviously CM Punk wins.
With two weeks to go until GAB, Benoit gets placed in a handicap match against Burke/Cor Von and beats them both, while Cm Punk beats Nitro. On the last week before GAB, CM Punk is the one in a handicap match against Nitro/Burke, while Benoit faces Cor Von, this is after CM Punk/Benoit had to be held back from each other earlier in the show. Cm Punk wins after pinning Nitro, while Benoit/Cor Von ends in a DQ, Cor von/Burke/Nitro end up attacking Benoit while Cm Punk unexpectedly makes the save with a chair in hand, Benoit gets up and Punk wacks him round the head with it, and finishes with Go 2 sleep.
The match at GAB for the title is now 2 out of 3 falls, CM Punk wins the first, Benoit the 2nd, and finally the third and remains the champ. CM Punk still struggling to overcome the old skool style of Benoit.
Two weeks later on ECW, an extreme rules match is made between Cor Von/Benoit/Cm Punk for the ECW title, Cm Punk shockingly wins after pinning Cor Von. Those two face next week and Cm Punk retains, but Benoit challenges him to one more match for the title at Summerslam. The match is a ladder match in which CM Punk just manages to survive and retain the ECW title.
So yeah, in memory of Benoit I thought I would do that..let me know whether any of you agree with it, bit long but felt i had to get the idea out of my head. RIP Benoits family.
