So I'm watching Forever Hardcore, and it got me thinking... Let's say something happens in the next 2-3 years and the ECW brand REALLY takes off. Let's say ECW's brand goes back to its roots as ECW, and becomes something that it used to be. Yea, maybe I'm dreaming here, but let's just play along.

Which ECW wrestlers would go into the Hall of Fame for what they did for ECW? Of course I'm looking for pre WWECW answers, if possible.

I think Tommy Dreamer is a shoe in already, Mick Foley will get in, and if hell goes cold The Franchise would all go in.

I wouldn't put Funk in because of ECW. He'd go in because of everything else. ECW was a very small part of his career. A great one, but a small one. His shit in ECW would just be something to add to his HOFness

How isn't funk in the HOF yet anyways.

For some reason I'd like to blame CC for me not seeing that, and not the people who brew MGD.........

I doubt it. How long did ECW even exist as ECW? Not much history there at all. Definitely not enough to warrant a Hall of Fame. If ECW gets a HoF, the XFL might as well too.

There's not even a WCW HoF, ya know?

I'm not saying make an ECW hall of fame. Just let people who were in ECW get into the hall of fame for what they did for ECW.

ECW made a HUGE impact on the face of Pro Wrestling in the USA. ECW was edgy before edgy was cool, it paved the way for hardcore wrestling in the USA, it was the first group that allowed wrestlers to shoot on the mic, it got some major talent some great air time, helped bring Mexican wrestling into the USA....

What ECW did in their short run was amazing. ECW was an oasis of an ideas which were stolen by WWE and WCW. Look at how ECW brought Luchadors in and then look how WCW coppied that. Anyone remember when The Undertaker put Steph on his little cross-like symbol? Before that happened Raven put The Sandman on a cross.

Comparing ECW to the XFL is.......... stupid. Just freaking stupid!

It's the WWE Hall of Fame. I just don't see people getting acknowledged for what they did in ECW.

Loose Cannon

no, it's not viewed as the WWE Hall of Fame anymore, at least by thier standards. If it were, Greg Gange and Bockwinkle would be nowhere near it. WWE has been acknowleding guys work in other promotions in the past couple of HOF's. I wouldn't see why they wouldn't ackowledge Foley's work in ECW whenever he goes in.

Listen. Tommy Dreamer is not a Hall of Famer. That's it.

LC is right on the money here, but I'd like to add one name that I think should be in the hall of fame sometime....
Ric Flair has done almost nothing for WWE 'cept for a storyline with Hogan and putting Mr. Perfect over. Most of what Flair has done was in WCW and NWA.

I don't know, I actually think he's got a great shot. He was the heart and soul of ECW besides Heyman and he's a good "company guy" with WWE right now.

plus he's from Yonkers, NY, the hometown of yours truly

If anybody from ECW should go to the hall, I'd say it should be Paul Heyman. I really don't see that happening either, though.

Tazz, Terry Funk, and Foley.

Anybody Thrilla

Terry Funk, sure, but he was so much more than just ECW. Taz? I really don't think he did too much. Foley, again, more than just ECW.

Like 450 was saying, yes, ECW was quite innovative and it changed wrestling (into something that everybody seems to hate these days), but most of those ideas came from Heyman. He had a way of making sub par performers shine. If ECW had a HoF, I'd see Sandman in it, but he's a ridiculously far cry from the WWE HoF. Dreamer I GUESS we have a much better shot than The Sandman, but he's not particularly all that fantastic, and his list of accomplishments could probably fit on the inside of a fortune cookie.

Why not just make an ECW wing to the hall of fame....wait a tick, there is no official hall of fame building is there?

Anybody Thrilla
06-29-2007, 12:56 PM
If there was an official WWE Hall of Fame building, it would only be fitting to have the ECW wing double as a bingo hall.

Terry Funk and Mick Foley obviously, but as previously stated more for the rest of their careers rather than strictly ECW.

Tommy Dreamer, RVD and Taz(z) otherwise. If RVD goes to TNA and slams WWE a bunch you can cut him out off that list though.
