Their last PPV was like April 8, which I believe was before Zuffa bought them out.. So when are new shows gonna start coming out?? Are they moving to America and having to fight under UFC rules?? Are they going to start using a cage?? Has anyone been fired or has any fighter been moved from Pride to UFC or vice versa??

Anyone got the lowdown??

They don't know what they are doing with Pride yet. Shogun is in UFC now 100%. If they even continue using Pride as a separate entity, they will still use the ring but will change to the UFC rules as they want their rules to be the universal MMA rules (which would be a good idea).

Any rumours about the proposed UFC / Pride supershow? Where it'll take place? Octagon or ring?

Stickman

If it takes place it will definatly be in the octagon.

That bugs me about the Henderson/Rampage unification. If Rampage wins does he win a Pride Championship under the banner and rules of UFC, that doesn't seem right.

I wish they would use the cage but stick with Pride rules.. 10 minute first round seperates the men from the boys..

I understand why they would change it though.. Under the ten point must system one round can't be longer than the others..

And Stickman, there you go again acting like a dick.. I understand I could look all of this up somewhere online but why not start a discussion?? And this coming from someone who ask retardedly easy questions in every MMA thread like

How old is shamrock?

Atleast this thread of questions was broad and going to be ever changing.. Not something you could just go to wikipedia and find out, you fucking prick..

I can't wait to see Shogun in the UFC. Recently got the Pride 2005 Middleweight GP and it was the first time i'd seen him. Thought he was fantastic. The kind of fighter who will only help the UFC with his style of fighting and aggression.

I wish they would leave Pride alone and let it run as-is. Even if they gut it and take all the top tier talent to UFC (which is what it looks like they are doing), i wish they would leave the rules and everything alone, and let it run as is. They could turn it into another feeder promotion like WEC, but only fighters in a ring instead of a cage.

If they were to change a rule, here is what I would do. Make it a feeder promotion and put an age limit/experience cap on it. Like, only fighters under 26 and/or less than 12 fights. If you are under 26 you can stay until you're 26, if you are voer 26 you can stay until you've completed 12 fights. At the point someone no longer qualifies for Pride, decide whether they belong in WEC or UFC.

Thats just my idea and what I would do with it.

They can't run it like it is. Soccer kicks and stuff are banned in the States. Pride also didn't allow elbows on the follow.

They don't have to run Pride in the States though, leave it in Japan. Air a PPV globally every once in a while.

The money is in the States though.

I have a feeling Pride won't be around anymore.

Kris P Lettus

If Pride isn't around, we'll see alot more UFC.. Like atleast 2 PPVs a month and maybe even a weekly show to build up younger fighters and have tourneys for contenders spot and whatnot..

Atleast I hope..

I mean, with all the fighter UFC already has, plus all of the Pride guys, it'd be ridiculous to only have one 10 fight card a month..

Confucius

Yer, can see the amount of PPVs being increased. Especially with their expansion into Europe. With the amount of fighters they have on their books now it should hopefully mean every PPV card is stuffed with quality fights.

Rob

Too many PPV's as it is. They should be doing absolutely no more than 14 a year.

you cant do only 14 if you have that many fighters unless you have a much bigger card and a longer ppv. The fighters kinda want to fight and with all those fighters and so little ppvs they wont really be getting what they want. Usually when that happens to competitors, they leave where they are and go somewhere else... I dont think UFC wants that.

Well I like the amount of shows they are doing right now it really work. Usually a PPV or two a month, a fight night, TUF, UFC is getting a lot of air time, anymore UFC PPV's would mean a price drop or definite overkill right now.

I think they should use Pride to tour Europe before UFC does.

I kinda agree but as said, no way they can keep people interested in all their fighters if we never see them.. I say start doing weekly two hour show to "highlight" some of the lesser known fighters.. Have turneys for contendership spots and whatnot.. I mean, UFC is Spike's bread and butter so I don't see why this can't happen..

UFC is already touring Europe and nobody here knows Pride.

Pride wasn't shown there either. We had a few K-1 shows because of LeBonner and Cro Cop being big European stars. That was it.

THere you go over reacting again. I only listed those sites as a jab at you. I knew I'd get that reaction from you and I find it funny.
