Seriously, it got a bit stale after awhile, but it was a pretty awesome gimmick while it lasted.

I always wanted to see Gregory Helms and Simon Dean to have a match, then decide neither one is good enough and come out as Hurricane and Supernova.

The Hurricane was only good when he had his little feud with the Rock

I have two thoughts on The Hurricane...

1) I wish they would have taken some good lower-mid carder and give him a Super-Villian gimmick and just have a ridiculous feud for a few months between the two. It would require some good writing but it would have just been great to see.

2) I honestly think The Hurricane could have been a great near main eventer. Not in the main event but right at the top of the mid-card ranks. Hurricane with a lengthy reign as IC Champ could have been pretty sweet. Helms is a great wrestler but for some reason as "Gregory Helms" I don't get the same feeling.

Helms IMO got a lot better without the hurricane gimmick. He had a solid 2006 on Smackdown! and hopefully he will get a U.S title push when he returns from injury.

I loved him. I wish They got the most out of that character before it got stale.

He lost the European belt at Raw in October of 2001 to Bradshaw (I was there live) and I remember him getting the clothesline from hell... and it was really sick.

Seriously, the Hurricane was fucking hilarious. Also, the Big Show got pretty fat after that.

Hurricane's chokeslam was awesome.

That is all.

For what its worth, he was on SD nearly every week compared to being on Heat all the time when he was on RAW. Also had a good series with Matt Hardy and was on every SD PPV and two of the "big four" PPV's.

After ditching the Hurricane gimmick, he got better intro music, worked better matches and didn't have to clown about in the ring (his chokeslam).

I didn't give two shits about Helms on RAW as the Hurricane, but after going his own way on SD, getting a good push and getting put over very well by JBL on commentary, he was my fav wrestler on SD!

Yeah, the Hurricane gimmick was awesome. I loved alot of the stuff he did, especially his mini feud with Rocky.

His new music and entrance video were slapped together. His feuding with Hardy was nice, but hardly a true step up. Most people probably don't even remember him wrestling more than twice in the last year, let alone being on the big four. He spent a lot of time injured, he's still in obscurity, and his title reign meant about as much as how large your average net folk might claim their penis is.

When he was getting those notes from "someone in his past," I was really hoping it was going to be a debuting Shannon Moore (who they had recently signed... the first time) as a super villain.

Instead, it was Nidia.

Way to go, Vince!
