View Full Version : Retirement for Hardcore Holly? I wish!

Hi,
New to the site, but a long time fan of wrestling.
I've noticed from this site and others that Hardcore Holly has been 'bitching, whining and moaning' backstage, and believes that he should be the next big thing in WWE.
If this is the case, shouldn't he maybe have taken an opportunity to prove himself as better than 2nd rate over the last 10 years?
I've watched him for a few years prior to his injury, and since he has returned, and sadly he still hasn't impressed me.
Maybe that's part of the problem? D'ya think?
To bring him back after his injury straight into a PPV main event/title shot is giving him a tremendous opportunity to show what he can do.
(Sadly Holly/Brock didn't make for any kind of exciting/entertaining/interesting/non-sleep-indicing match)
As it was he didn't do anything worthwhile to put himself over during the match, which will be why he ain't getting a push now!
Correct me if I'm wrong, but WWE should give him another 6 months, and if he can' put together a decent match by then, he should get his ass canned.
Incidentally, Great Site.

Firstly Hi and welcome.
Secondly yeah no one round really thinks Holly deserves shit mainly cos he's a bitch.
However if you were Holly you wouldn't leave and Vince wont fire him cos he'll go to TNA
Sort of a stale mate there, Plus holly has been there so long i bet he's got tons of stuff that vince doesn't want let out in a shoot interview

Why wait? Fire his useless ass now. In the past 10 years Holly has done nothing remotely entertaining and with that massive chip on his shoulder, you cant really see him doing anything now. If he did go to TNA then i doubt he'd perform well there either, so it wont be a huge loss to Vince.
Holly is dead weight, and with all the contract terminations in the air right now, it should his thats ripped up, not actual talent such as Kanyon

Only reason Hardcore is really on TV right now is because he showed loyalty to the company and has been with WWE for 11 years. Other than that I can't think of a good reason why he is still around.

Really, I don't see how Holly can contribute anything. So what, even if he went to TNA, I don't think that would really help TNA, or hurt the WWE, so I say can his ass. He's got a bad attitude, can't get over to save his life, and looks like a fn' shmuck.

Obviously, he has never been given a chance to properly prove himself. If he were, then his stellar skills in the ring, positive attitude, and personality as a true team player would come out. He is being held down however by those with far less talent; the Lesnars, Angles, Gurrerros, and Benoits on the roster who can't work to save their own lives and are entirely unworthy of being main eventers. Any true fan of wrestling should be able to see what a jewel amongst workers Hardcore Holly is.

I don't know about all this "Hardcore Holly is a bitch" stuff. You all know how much shit gets started on the internet. Do any of us actually know what kind of person Hardcore Holly really is? I actually find him somewhat kind of mildly entertaining. He's been with the company over ten years in what you could hardly call a "Decade of Destruction". He deserves at least one chance to prove himself. If he doesn't deliver, then he would have at least been given a shot. There are worse superstars than Hardcore Holly. I just think that the 'net likes to pick on him.
He beats up the kid from Tough Enough 3 and he's public enemy #1. I guess he may believe that he can be like Stone Cold, just from Alabama. Maybe he should go to TNA. Who knows what could happen.

I don't give a **** how his attitude is. I don't care about the Tough Enough shit. Bottom line being, HE SUCKS. There is a reason nobody responds to him. He has no kind of a look, his ring skills are mediocre at best, and he just isn't entertaining in any way. He had his chance with Lesnar, and completely flopped. Despite being given pretty good build to the match. Just because he's been with the company 10 years doesn't mean they should push him. It's not a "fair" business. The people who have marketability, and talent will get pushed ahead of people like Holly, regardless of who has more seniority.

Holly sucks.
I'ma somewhat mirror blake639raw here, in I don't really care about attitude and shit as long as they ENTERTAIN ME. Hardcore Holly doesn't, and probably never will. The fact taht he's bitter that other people actually CAN entertain people just kinda adds to my already high level of disinterest.

In the end, though, he's impotent. He's not gonna leave because he can't cut it for shit anywhere but with his "tenure." If he's upset he's a midcarder (at best), he's gonna be upset for pretty much the remainder of his career.

I liked Holly's Hardcore gimmick in 99, but besides that I can't say I've been impressed with him at all.

It's not our fault that he can't be entertaining
It's not our fault that he's so generic
It's not our fault that his attitude stink
And he wonders why he isn't a top dog.
Holly never impressed me. For reasons, see above.
