View Full Version : Are house shows really that necessary?

You have these wrestlers work extra shows that aren't even televised, have no actual implications on storylines, and don't get the best of attendance.

With all the talk about steroids recently, do you think it would be best for WWE and other wrestling promotions to dramatically reduce or even abolish the whole concept of house shows to give wrestlers more time to recupereate?

Yeah, it produces revenue, keeps wrestlers active. Also helps wrestlers get comfortable wrestling each other, practice different finishes and stuff before going on TV. Although I do agree they should cut back on some. Was even thinking today about how bad would it really be if there was like a 1 month off season for wrestling, just air best of type stuff or something while they are off. But would be weird just to stop in middle of storylines and that.

It gives smaller towns a chance to see it live.

I don't think that's the case anymore, as WWE is desperate in looking for places to sell out their televised shows these days.

Best place to go if you want to see WWE live for the first time, I reckon.

I took in a few before I ever got the chance to see a TV show live and the difference in 'wrestling' as you'd expect is pretty big.

House shows are a bit more entertaining in my opinion.

House Shows:

If they didn't have them they couldn't nurture the new talent, or try anything out until it went on live TV, so yes I think they are a good thing.

Plus most of the under card guys would be flat out broke

I like House Shows, but what I think would attract more people to go to them is if they had more frequent title changes at the show.

Who won a title at a house show and actually carried it over?

Didnt Christian beat Bradshaw for the European title at a House Show? or was it on T.V.? Also Didnt Spike beat Regal for the European Title at a house show or was that a UK PPV?

I believe the most recent title change at a house show was this spring with the Womens Title, but that happened as an accident as was not planned.

It was actually Crash Holly that beat Regal at a UK house show for the Eurpean Title, then at the following house show Regal won it back.

Which one? I ask, because I know Edge vs. Jarrett was non-televised, and Shotgun Saturday Night was finished by the time any Christian vs. Booker title change would've taken place.

Money Inc beat LOD for the Tag Titles at a house show. Alledgedly. I may be wrong but I think the Natural Disasters also beat Money Inc for the same titles on a house show.

Very well stated

House shows = practice

TV shows = Game Day

PPV's = Big Games....:shifty:
