what athlete would you like to watch more than anybody?

I can see people saying Babe Ruth. But personally, I'd love to watch Maurice Richard play hockey. Everything I hear or read of the guy just points at him being the greatest goal scorer with the biggest fire in his eyes of all time. I just read a thing where he'd score 4 or 5 goals in one game and think he played terribly. One game he was voted 1st, 2nd and 3rd Star of the game. Hell, if you have a Riot named after you, you must be something special.

There's so many but I guess I'd have to pick either Josh Gibson or Satchel Paige since there's so little known about them during their primes.

If I could go to any event, it would have been Superbowl III (my pops was there  )

Just a player though, I would have loved to see Mickey Mantle in his prime.

Diego Maradona. Even if what I did see growing up was awesome.

homer picks... Ted Williams, Bobby Orr or Bill Russell.

Gayle Sayers or Rockne coaching the 4 horsemen.

maybe even Gordie Howe in his prime.

Willie Mays, Henry Aaron and Mickey Mantle come to mine. But more than anything I'd like to go back to 1979 so I could experience a Seattle team winning a professional championship

Bobby Orr. I seen Gretzky, so it would be nice to be able to compare the two.

I was going to say Orr too, but something about the Rocket intrigues me more. Orr was probably the best all around player of all time.

It's hard to say. I don't think I would want to go back and see a baseball hitter, like Mantle or Ruth or Williams or something, and in terms of football, I think what we have now is better anyway. Same with basketball, to some extent. Maybe one of those dominant pitchers would be cool, or a really dominant hockey player.

To be honest, I think the 1954 Empire Games when Roger Banister and
John Landy both had done the 4-minute mile independently but then faced off would be incredible. Seeing Prefontaine run in one of his big races would also be an incredible sight.
