Hardest one was Best Fighter between Rampage and Couture..

RAMPAGE

Some of those are so random. Best international athlete is about as arbitrary as it can get. Albert Pujols? I like Drogba, but if you want a soccer player, Kaka or Cristiano were the best this season. MLS was messed too, Juan Pablo Angel is probably easily the best player so far this season.

Voted for Randy, nothing against Rampage just that fight against Sylvia was a masterpiece

tbh, these awards should have been done a long time ago. Way too much time has passed.

I think they do them the same time every year..

Kinda like, I caught alittle of the last MTV movie awards and Talledega Nights was a nominee..

Crazy..

Oh yeah and VOTE FOR PRIDE..

I know it sucked and got horrible reviews but if it wins, I, in a round of bout sort of way, will win an Espy..

I decided not to take this seriously after an autistic kid shooting 3 pointers beat George Mason in the final four for best moment last year

But that kind of story allows Chris Connely to still be on tv after all these years..

lol good reasoning

I would vote for the Saints thing for best moment, but Derek Fishers return was pretty cool too. I think the Saints return will win by a landslide though.

I think the ESPYs need to change their format. It doesn't make any sense to have the fans voting on who the best athletes in given sports are, especially when they are nominated by ESPN anyway. If I want to know the best baseball player, I see who won MVP or Cy Young, not who won the ESPY.

I don't know exactly how they could fix it. If they need to insist on having similar categories, it should be "favorite baseball player" instead of "best MLB player."

Also, the whole international factor is fucked up. If they want to include guys like Federer, they need to be give more credit to the non-major sports. The "Best Male Athlete" category kind of defies my point, because I think overall it is pretty good, but I still say it holds no credibility because the sports/countries/people they choose from are so biased.

BCWWF

Also, it's quite clear that Ben Askren was more dominant in college sports this year than Kevin Durant, Greg Oden AND Troy Smith. There are probably 10 other athletes who were more dominant, only problem they were track and field, swimming, golf, some other non-revenue sport. If you want to choose the most dominant athletes, go with Askren, if you want to choose the most popular athletes in a big sport, go with Smith, Durant and Oden. It doesn't make sense.

BCWWF

Also, the ESPYs could have a lot more obscure but cool categories too. Best agent? Best owner? It doesn't really do anything for me to see LeBron win "best basketball player as voted by ESPN viewers." Who gives a shit? The Miz? I doubt it.

Who judges what movies are good on if they won an MTV Movie Award??

1. The MTV Movie Awards are about the lowest form of awards for movies, I don't know anybody who has ever watched or gave a shit about the MTV Movie Awards.

2. Movies and sports are not similar in any way. Judging a movie is completely objective. You can't say The English Patient is better than Gladiator because it averaged more assists per game. Anytime you are critiquing a movie it is 100 times more subjective than critiqing an athlete. The variables are copletely different.

1. I don't know anyone who has ever watched The Espy's and thought they were legit awards.. Most sports have league awards (like NFL's MVP) that are the "real" awards..

2. Alot of the catagories are multi-sport so you can't just use stats either.. Even some of the same sport catagories you can't use stats alone because alot of the players play different positions.. Sure LT is the man and broke the TD record last year but how do you compare that to Drew Brees' 4418 total yards, 26 TDs, and 96 Passer Rating??

You are the only one who is taking this seriously while arguing they shouldn't be taken seriously..

Again, calm down..

It's an entertainment show and that's it's.. It's really just a reason to get alot of athletes and celebs together and show highlights.. It's not really sold as being a real awards show IMO..

Saints won for "Home Sweet Dome"..

Thanks Steamah. I got kind of excited when writing that, I will admit, but I don't think I was freaking out or anything. I just think the concept of getting all of these high-profile athletes together is really cool, but that it could be done in a much cooler way.

That said, I haven't seen this year's ESPYs but my friends all said they were pretty good and really funny, so maybe I am wrong.
