View Full Version : Is an Nvidia Geforce 7300LE shit?

Is this a shitty card? I ask this because before upgrading my PC completely, I was running an Nvidia Geforce 6600GT on an AGP slot, and I would get framerates of 30-60fps. After my upgrade I got between 0-20 unless standing still, when I got 30-35 maximum. Upgrading the drivers helped, but doing some research on the card it appears that it isn't a gaming card, simply a cheap "value for money" type or whatever.

Anyone know if this is true? Because i'm thinking of playing a couple of games on my PC which I know would run horribly on this card, so wondering if I should get a better Geforce before I do.

This card is PCI-express btw

Here's the majority of cards ranked by how good they are. http://www.overclock.net/graphics-cards-general/114450-graphics-card-rankings-2-a.html

It comes out at 67 but there are a couple other cards on the market now that would push it down a little further. So you know how it stands against others.

I haven't read anything on it personally but it seems to be an older card and, pretty much like every old card, it probably won't be that good at gaming.

So my old card is ranked about 20 cards higher than my current one, brilliant.

Last time I trust that computer shop with getting me new hardware then.

If your current system is AGP, then a PCIE Card won't work in it, you'll need a new motherboard.
The best AGP Card you can currently buy is the ATI Radeon X1950 I think.

Having a PCIE card is better than an AGP one though right?

I bought a whole new system for the switch from my Geforce 6600GT (AGP) to the Geforce 7300LE (PCIE)

I'd get an 8800/8600gt etc, anything in that family, the 7's are old cards now. In fact, I just got a new PC, spent the cash and got an 8800gt, it rocks.

I don't wanna spend a shitload but I would like something good. I'll have a look at some prices I spose.

How much is a shitload?

You can get a 8800GTS 320mb for about £130 and that will be future proof for a long time. I will definitely be getting one when I buy a new computer in the next month or so.

I just got an 8500 gt and it's pretty nice. I would have gone better but this is the biggest one that would fit in my case. I just got a new computer too and I didn't want to hack it up yet. :o
