Apparently they have fixed the sideline cathes a wee bit, most annoying crap ever when I would run a playaction and get Cotchery open towards the sideline and he makes an easy cath and steps out with the 2nd foot for no reason

I lost by like 13 points to the Panthers in pre-season (though to be fair, I was playing it exactly like a real pre-season game). The CPU uses its first stringers 1st half and 2nd stringers 2nd half. I was using my 2nd stringers by the 2nd quarter and all my 3rd and 4th string bench guys by the 2nd half.

Overall seems a lot harder this year, which is a good thing. Wayyyyy too many fumbles though. Everybody seems equally likely to cough up the ball with any given hit.</font>

Fumbles aren't too bad, I think you're forced to use the "Cover Ball" button a lot and in the right situations, which is a good thing.

Right now I think I'm sitting at 4-4 in my season with the Giants. Playing on All Pro difficulty with some adjusted sliders, to make it a tad bit more difficult. I'm having trouble finding realisitic stats in my games, so I'm going to have to adjust further. All in all I'm happy with the game. I think it does play harder like Vito said, but not in an unfair sense. I think it forces you to play smarter.

I don't know why some of you guys sign free agents and create yourself and stuff, to me that detracts from the fun and realism.

<font color=goldenrod>Finally got to the regular season in my game. My first game was like bizarro world. I beat the Cowboys 21-6

Eli only threw the ball 11 times, getting 6 completions for 47 yards. Should have had 8 and a lot more yards but Plax and Smith dropped long passes. Most important pass was a floater from the 2 yard line that Toomer reached up and brought down for the TD.

Jacobs also got a TD, had like 56 yards on the day. My other TD was an interception return by Will Demps.

My D was sick. Strahan with 2 sacks, Osi with 1, Mitchell with 1. They were also on the field almost all game.

Sinorice Moss is the man at punt returns. Got like a 29 yard per return average even though he did fumble once.</font>

<font color=goldenrod>Moss is the man. Even when the CPU kick it deep into the end zone, Sinorice can still get well past the 20 with relative ease.

Personally I think Ward sucks though. Pretty slow, he fumbled multiple times in preseason. I'm getting much better results with Aaron Ross as my #2 return guy</font>

1st year: Drafted by Bills...demanded trade after 1-5 start, landed with the undefeated and first place Chiefs. We won a few games but struggled a bit too...wound up 1st in the AFC. Eliminated by the Bengals in the Divisional Round. Led the league in pancakes.

2nd year: Nowhere near as good as the first...finished 5th in pancakes. BARELY made playoffs where we demolished the Colts and then lost big time to the Pats. LJ got injured like every week, Priest retired, Croyle left, Huard stuck as QB half the team left...so I ditched.

3rd year: Took a 1-year deal with the Colts. 3-0 so far. Its hilarious cause I'll be in to block and all of a sudden Peyton audibles me into a receiver. Caught the game-winning TD pass in Week 3 against the Titans. :cool: Pancake opprotunities are down this year tho.</font>

But yeah...after starting 5-1 with the Colts....we finished 7-9 and 3rd in the AFC South :| Reggie Wayne and Joseph Addai got injured constantly...and Addai's backup was like a 58 OVR. I did a whole season in a day cause there would be times where I go drives without playing due to the Colts primarily using a 2-TE set.

On a 4-year deal with the Vikings now (barely missed the playoffs in '09) and I'm gonna go back to playing most downs. Should be fun.</font>

The CPU has a set order they draft in every single time. If you have the whole draft simmed, you will get the same group of players every time...the only variable will be the team itself. Makes it incredibly easy to draft since you know who the CPU is taking.

Ed Reed always goes 1st overall...followed by Tomlinson. One team invariably wins up with Seneca Wallace as the starting QB</font>

During my first 3 years in Franchise Mode as the Bills, I have went 5-11 (simmed), 13-3 winning the bowl, and 11-5 winning the bowl, and combined, my guys have gained a collective 12 points....the whole team added 12 points. in comparison, brandon Marshall added 15 in those 3!

All my guys do really well stat wise, and they perform over their ratings. My qb has done 3 straight pro bowls, has been top 4 in all stats and he hasnt gotten any better. I have hired all new coaches and WTF!

I look every offeason, like the broncos and chargers have about 40 poitns of imporrvment (always a guy with +5 at least) and I have nothing, most I have seen is a +2.

i made them trade me to the COLTS where i actually return kicks and now a 3rd string WR the best situation cause i am already doing better than i did with the lions (68/880ish/2 TD). It is great to have a quarterback who won't throw 5 INTs every game like Trent Green and Jon Kitna would do, computer seems to forget how to manage a team in superstar mode. Like when Kitna had his fourth 4 INT game was it impossible to sit him out and start the rookie who is rated 1 total point below him

The AI for superstar mode needs a revamping. The playcalling is stupid, like Vito said, you get catapulted to #1 on the depth chart for many of the positions, and the computer is plain stupid.

So as a TE I am a 92 to start, basically Im shockey. I was drafted by the Bills ( I was happy, they are my team) and basically I never saw the field, and only had like 55 catches for 2 TD. Still made the pro bowl. But the Bills suck and their Playbook rarely uses a TE, so I demanded a trade, adn landed with the Jets. I hate them in RL but their Offense is great for me. First game with them Pennington hit me 9 times for 125 yards and 2 TD. Alot of sets with the TE spread out wide, which is good as I have 92 Speed as a TE (Nice!)

You can call timeouts as any player on the field. If your defense, go to the options tab when you pause, and in one of the settings you can change the offense from Supersim to Your control, so you play a normal game whenever your superstar is off the field.

<font color=goldenrod>Odd thing happened. I decided to let Strahan and Toomer walk after 2007. Still great players, but they were old and I wanted to get my team younger. I drafted a wideout and signed Terrell Suggs, so their absense won't be much a problem.

But to my surprise, nobody signed them up during the 30-day period (despite Stra being the top free agent) and then after the draft ended they were gone from the FA pool entirely. I'm certain they didn't retire or anything because Stra would be in the HOF.</font>

There is something fucked up with the FA pool. I think there was/is a patch that is allegedly supposed to fix it but I don't know, you would have to look into it.

Well its a flaw in the game. I don't even have my 360 right now to play, and to be honest never got that far in a franchise to notice this stuff. I read about it online at another forum. If I actually had the time to invest in a lengthy franchise, it certainly would bother me. I've read the franchise pool dries up, so that for some positions there won't be any free agents. What the hell are you supposed to do if you need a FB and there aren't any? It forces you to trade, and in turn you have to give up something unnecessarily.

And IIRC, in my game there aren't any free agent FBs already after just one off-season. And I think I read that if a CPU team has an injury happen to them leaving them below the minimum but no one to pick up, the game can't continue. So you'd have to basically turn injuries off and that would blow.

Guess I just have to hope I don't get screwed. It's a shame you can't edit positions anymore or you could just sign some HB and convert him to fill the roster void</font>

<font color=goldenrod>Lost my first Madden game against the CPU in ages, 17-14 against the Ravens.

Kinda got screwed in retrospect...last play of the first half, I try a hail mary bomb to my rookie wideout, and he caught to to my surprise. Got tackled 2 yards shy of the end zone but when he was tackled he was tackled into the endzone. It didn't give me credit for the TD :mad:

Brandon Jacobs is absolutely disgusting tho. 10 games into the season and he's got 19 TDs.</font>

I'm in Pre-Season Week 1 in year 3...and the game freezes whenever I try simming anything...be it one of my games or a CPU game. :|
