This isn't really even about Benoit, because they started on it, then they ripped into wrestling. But not like you might expect. "Oh, stupid wrestling fans..."
Nope. They tore into Vince McMahon for not being even remotely entertaining anymore. For basically a shitty product. Kind of funny from the liberal elite.
So what, they're internet smarks?

Just shows you, how bad the WWE has been for quite some time now, that it is even being noticed/noted by people such as this. Not a great sign for the WWE, but hopefully a spread of opinion enough to get back in the ears of the WWE could kickstart a revival :(

Why do you assume they can't be jackass smarks or something?

It's funny cause here in Canada there's nothing on our news at all about it, but then you turn on Fox or CNN and it's all over there channels.

They didn't blame Triple H or talk about John Cena, thyey didn't mention workrates, and they never once pushed Val Venis.
So probably not.

Could be, but I personally have not met anyone (assuming they are at least in their 20's, and not 12 or under), who is entertained by the current product. Could be different elsewhere, but none of my friends watch wrestling anymore, because of the current product, so was just assuming based on that, but you could be dead on.

I've read a couple articles in the Ottawa Sun about it, but that's all I've come across, here in Canada.

I have a friend, 20, claims to be a lifelong fan and smark...he thinks Lashley is just awesome and can't understand why isn't champ.

Maybe we just don't know what we're talking about MB, he could be right.

During One Night Stand he called to let me know Lashley won the ECW Title back. I was like "Great" :| .

LOL, I remember when all my friends used to watch wrestling, now none of them watch it any more, I know like one other person who watches it still, other then my sister and she doesn't count cause she's a Cena Mark.

A lot of my friends don't anymore either. We all kinda stopped around 2002-2003, I got back into it and so did a couple other guys. A couple of us were watching...crap, I don't remember what PPV is was a while back and one of the guys was there that doesn't watch anymore and he was just like "Who the hell are all these people? Is The Rock going to be on?"

Yup, I stopped watching around the same time you did, right around Lesnar's meotoric rise, I had begun to loose interest long before that though.
I'm reliving glory days though, as I am watching all the RAW's and PPV's for 98 and 99.

Man, I used to watch PPVs with over a dozen friends. We usually all pitched in a couple bucks for the PPV, and alternated who held it so nobody got stuck with cleanup too often. The Big PPVs, like the Rumble, we'd have as many as 20 people. These days, I can't find anyone interested in seeing Wrestle-Fucking-Mania these days.
Anyway, it amazes me that anyone still thinks this is a "smark" thing. At this point, it's kind of like thinking that the Round Earth belief is an act of heresy.
