Watching SmackDown! now, even though I saw the spoilers this week, they tend to leave out descriptions of promos. Which is why I still watch the show, some details are overlooked.

Anyway, Eddie Guerrero doesn't appear to be stopping with his great promos. He gets really fired up out there. I never knew Eddie to be so incredible on the mic. He isn't all catchy like some people, he just goes out there and represents a ton of emotion. Going from the easy going guy... "I tell them I don't know, I will just live one day at a time..." to the ruthlessly angry Latino, in screaming with a red face about taking a stand and calling Angle out.

Man. Considering Angle's ruthless way of beating down on Eddie, and Eddie's new temper, I think this match is going to be THE most intense match at Wrestlemania. It's been a while since I could watch a match and think, "Wow, these two hate each other."

WWE is getting better. And even though there are still many things that need to be rectified, they are putting the spotlight on some good wrestlers lately. And I believe Brock Lesnar is doing good also. Not in terms of promos, or anything like that, but he is playing his role well and he is kindly stepping from the spotlight.

Now I'm not so sure if that will happen because of all the Goldberg marks, but... So far, this is working out really well. And there's still more time. Anyhow...

Back to the focus of Eddie Guerrero. I think we are looking at a new full-time face and main-eventer. The rumors are true so far. 2004 is the year of Eddie Guerrero, and I think I am pretty damn happy for it. As I said before, I was never big on Guerrero, but now... He is the man.

Another reason why I have disdain for some wrestling fans:

Some assholes BOOED Eddie talking about being alcohol-free.

Yeah, we know you're all lushes and can't live without your beer. Hell, you're probably drunk at the show anyway. But, for Christ's sake, he's a recovering alcoholic. Show him some f</>ucking respect!

It's like at the house show a while back when some fan poured beer on Eddie, leading Eddie to flip out. I think it's disgusting that people would stoop that low while a guy is overcoming some serious demons.

Someone actually did that? Fuc</>k them. That's retarded, and cruel, and idiotic. But hey, look at Eddie now. He is the man. He hasn't lost his career because of other people who were weaker under similar circumstances. :)

Anyway Eddie is one of my favorite wrestlers now. I always respected his in-ring abilities, and I was a big fan of him in WCW, but for a while I drifted away from him when he first joined WWE.

Since the end of last year I started to pay attentino to Eddie again, but he was one of the last guys I thought that was going to win the WWE title anytime soon. Now it's as if something's come over him, and his promos are better than ever. Seriously, it's great to have such a strong all-around superstar in the main event scene.

Well, how many marks out there realize that Eddie is really a recovering alcoholoc?

Probably not many of them.

But that's almost (not quite) beside the point, because they booed the fact that he was "alcohol-free." Even if he wasn't a recovering alcoholic and just abstained from drinking alcohol, does that make it any better?

Anyway, you have a point ColdwaVer, but even if they're just playing along with the storylines (which we can assume most are doing), you still don't boo a guy PLAYING a recovering alcoholic.

Well, some wrestling fans still are ignorant rednecks.

I was watching him, and I realized: Eddie doesn't really do good promos. Or rather, he doesn't really say anything interesting. Eddie just says something about his alcoholism, then horale!!!! Viva la raza!!! But his emotion is so catchy and contagious that you can't help but get pumped up. So in that sense, he's awesome on the mic.

Just thought I'd point that out. It's kind of interesting.

Yeah, agreed. It's not so much about his 'skills' or anything, I agree that he doesn't do anything catchy. It's all about the emotion. The guy turns red for Gods' sake. He is on fire. Eddie isn't disappointing anyone, that's for sure, and the WWE made a really good move setting this up. Let's just hope they continue to do so.

I like Eddie a lot but one thing bothers me about his promos. He always talks about his drug and alcohol problems. I'm so happy for the guy to get over those but he keeps talking about it. I'd like to see him come up with something else. It's a great story, but it seems like I'm watching "Full House" when he talks about getting over his problems.

Well, if he's still doing it six months from now, I'll be tired of it, but really, they should be using it through Wrestlemania while they can. It makes perfect sense, since it goes with the "overcame the odds" bit.

Yeah, that's definitely something to watch out for. Wouldn't want him getting stale or anything. Hopefully Eddie will stay fresh with his gimmicks and mic-work and continue to rule. It would really suck if he got lost in the mid-card again after such a long-due push.
