Granted that it was under different circumstances.
As long as they don't do the whole "This one's for Eddie" thing, and just let him build himself up through the rankings I could see it happening again.
Either that or we see Rey Mysterio VS Chavo Guerrero for the Cruiserweight title for the millionth time. :nono:

Again? You make me laugh.
I've heard Vince isn't too high on him right now because of his size, so I seriously doubt it he ever will be again.
As for acceptable? No. He's just too small for a World Championship. I mean, there's small, and then there's Rey. ECW champion, though, definitely.

Haven't we scientifically proven on these boards that Mysterio was never champion to begin with?

I do have a vague memory of Rey pinning Randy Orton at Wresltemania for some reason.

If you aren't tall enough to ride Space Mountain (Whooooooo!) , you shouldn't be Heavy Weight Champion of anything. Period.

Easy mistake to make. What actually happened, though edited by WWE, was that a midget interfered in the match, causing it to be stopped. WWE vacated the title for several months until it was awarded to Booker T.

Rey has sucked since he came to WWE. The roids made him so bulky he can't fly like he used too. And working WWE main event style just sucks when you 5'5.

Eddie v.s Rey could have been the best feud EVER if Rey didn't suck so much ass.

I could see Rey as the IC or US champ, maybe in the upper card, but anything beyond that is kinda like hearing The Great Kahli sing show tunes. It'll be cool for five seconds and then you'll want to die.

What do you mean champion again? Wouldn't he have to be champion first before he can be champion again?

I don't want another wrestler to die so Mysterio has coat tails to ride on, so, I hope it doesn't happen.

Maybe they are refering to that odd period of time when the World Heavywieght Champship was vacant. For some odd reason at Wrestlemainia 22 Kurt Angle dropped the vacated the title. Then 3 or 4 months later at Judgement Day, King Booka T was awarded the vacant title.

In fact I just sent this e-mail to WWE:
Why was the World Heavywieght Championship vacant between April 2, 2006 to July 23, 2006? I have never understood why Kurt Angle would just drop the title a Wrestlemainia 22 only for Booker T to pick it up a few months later.

They did it to apologize for making him wrestle Rey on a PPV.

Wouldn't have believed a year ago I'd be saying this but NO. Not for me.
I tried to post this yesterday, but fucking internet screwed up and I lost it.
Anyway, this is to the people who think that Rey could never be a credible champion...but I won't lie either. His reign as World Champion on Smackdown was terrible, in the same way I don't like Chris Jericho's World Champion run (even though he's been my favorite since 98). The problem with Rey's run was he was never built as the unstopable force or dominant wrestler that the World Champion should be. He was built as the "underdog champion" and his presentation as a World Champion was more of a person who was constantly lucky rather than someone who could dominate the toughest of opponents.
However, if Rey was built right, he could have easily been a credible World Champion...even at 5'2". How do I know this? I know because at one time he was. Back at the beginning of 1999 when the nWo reformed together and lWo was taken out, Rey started feuding with Kevin Nash. Now while the basis of this feud was quite dumb, the thing to come out of it was Rey's "Giant Killer" gimmick, where not by luck but by talent he was dominating over much larger wrestlers, including Nash and Bam Bam Bigelow which he both pinned. Then when Spring Break 99' roled around, Rey had one a World Championship title shot against champ Ric Flair. At the time Ric was starting to head back to his heelish roots, and had Arn acting as backup. However, through the match, Rey was kicking ass and even along with Arn, Ric was always in the corner.
The match even ended in DQ, but Rey got the last laugh as he knocked Ric into the pool below. It was great, and I was cheering him all the way...even thinking at points that he might win the strap.
So depending on how Rey is built, he can definately be a credible champion
