Apparently, according to peeps who have seen the script, they aren't zombies, but mutants.

TECHNICALLY they weren't vampires in the book though, but the reason they acted like vampires was pretty brillant.

Anyway, this is probably going to end up being more of an action horror movie then a suspense type thing. That's my bet anywya.
