View Full Version : Finlay ...&... the MAIN EVENT?

Would you guys buy him as a Main Eventer?

He's not flashy but he knows how to work, can deliver a solid promo and is able to pull out good matches that get the crowd engaged. Plus, he has a character; being the fighting Irish bastard and all.

Given the brand split and the joined PPV's I would think he'd be welcomed as a main eventer. Plus, I think a program between him and Edge over the World Heavyweight Championship would make for some pretty good entertainment.

I definitely do not believe he should hold THE title or if he does he is definitely transitional champ material, but I think he'd make a credible main event challenger when the company needs a new contender or if multiple wrestlers are out with injuries.

What do you all think?

I think at some point, before the end of his career, they will give him a short World Title run.

Yes.

I'm not convinced that Edge and FInlay would make a good program. I dream of a Jericho title run with Finlay chasing.

Sadly, it'll stay a dream.

I would buy him as part of a main event scene, ie, him and several other people chasing the title and each other around, instead of this push someone then job them out then back down the ladder they go mentality.

I've always like Finlay. He works well, has a real presence about him. Like he really looks like a tough guy in the ring.

With some tweaks to the character, definitely.

I would buy him short term, ut I think he's too far past it to be a main eventer regularly.

He could fill the void on SD right now. Is he still on SD?

Yeah, still on Smackdown.

I would believe him as a main eventer, but he might have to turn face to have a chance. I couldn't buy a long title reign but 1-2 months would be fine.

I see him as one of the top guys on Smackdown! already.

I don't mind him at all. I do not like the little bastard thing. He gets pops and Finlay gets boos. I think it hampers him as a credible baddy.
