View Full Version : Chuck Palumbo

Impeccable

Just watched SmackDown, and once again, Palumbo came out and got zero reaction for his match.

However, he faced a local cruiserweight and his strength moves were pretty impressive against a small guy. Chuck will never get over as a motor cycle building/riding babyface. In true Alienoid fashion, I had an idea to try and get him into a mid to upper card feud with Rey Mysterio.

Basically, have Teddy Long meet with Chuck and say that due to an admin error, Chuck's weight is listed as being 180lbs rather than 280. Teddy says that it'll be a few months till the error is rectified (for storyline purposes).

Palumbo soon realises he qualifies for cruiserweight status and goes on a rampage. Starting at the bottom of the cruiserweight ladder, he beats opponents for two months straight until earning a shot at the cruiserweight title. Teddy can't do anything about it, and is obviously unhappy. Palumbo then issues an open challenge and Rey Mysterio accepts the challenge. (Rey has meantime been in a feud with Mark Henry or someone). This leads to a couple of months feud until Rey finally beats Palumbo for the cruiserweight title.

The next SmackDown, Long tells Palumbo that the administrative error has been resolved and immediately puts him in a match with Batista. Palumbo would most probably lose, but the whole angle could get him over as a heel and put him in the midcard scene.

It ain't going to happen though. I just like to put these ideas down sometimes.

Don't really like Palumbo... but nice idea. :y:

Although I fear it would make a total joke of the Cruiserweight Division, but it's not like anyone takes it seriously to begin with.

I thought he got a decent reaction on smackdown this week, it was a piss-break match though he made it look good.

Yeah his reaction was pretty decent.

But what pissed me off the most was Michael Cole saying he's a newcomer. They really, truly, think we are stupid. :o

Lol didn't hear that. If he said that, he's pretty stupid considering last week he reminded us how he used to wrestle in the WWE and WCW.

Chuck's a solid worker. What's his gimmick now? I'm betting that's what's killing him.

Basically he's the midcard American Badass.

Weak.

No wonder he's getting a lackluster response. I mean, it's like the "Con Man."

I like Chuck Palumbo. Overall, that idea is not bad, and would be quite funny to see. I'd love for, I don't know, Paul Burchill or even Eugene get that over Palumbo, though.

I commend the WWE for putting Chuck on SmackDown!, where they were short faces, but apparently the gimmick was actually working on Heat where it debuted. I read numerous reports where Palumbo was allegedly more over than a lot of the other acts on the show. What is Palumbo's finishing move, these days? All I know is that it's called the "Full Throttle" or something. Give Chuck back the Jungle Kick. I never liked or got that name, but I think it would suit him more now. Better yet, have him Jungle Kick a guy, then give him an F-5.

I really like Palumbo, I've always found him passable, and quite entertaining, especially for a bigger guy. Give him a solid push, and eventually he will get somewhat over.

Bring Billy Gunn in again, and have him become his gay motorcycle riding partner.

Then imagine how over he'll get if WWE writers can find a way to book him right

The thought never occured to the WWE, but it's kind of rewarding how this gimmick kind of flows on from his Custom Chucky P shit.

Afterlife

His "Full Throttle" is the same as the GunnStinger, the Superhero Slam and Waki-whatchacallit Injin Swing that Tatonka was doing prior to his escape.

"Custom" Chucky P was the shit.

I actually thought it might have been that swinging uranage, actually, don't ask me why. I guess the move has just become so generic and predictable.

haha he's still not been added to the Smackdown superstars page.

Made me realize an odd fact: seems like if you are appearing on a show after not being on screen for awhile, you need to be on like 3 or 4 times before they actually add you to the roster page. It's happened other times (like when the Major Brothers first debuted on ECW)

Not a bad show, but hasn't really found it's groove. The natural drama all of these shows have tacked on to them seems to be added on as an afterthought so it just seems awkward at times.

Can't believe I'm admitting this but I still remember him and Jamie Noble feuding over Michelle McCool...

If Sean O'Haire had not been injured in a motorcycle accident and left wrestling for a brief MMA stint, then he and Palumbo could have had a Midcard Motor Madness feud in WWE or against the Motor City Machine Guns in TNA.
