And this thread, I find myself re-living a LOT of the Attitude era over the past week or two and the memories are a good.

I've gone through WWE The Music Volumes 3 & 4 over and over and sailed through Tagged Classics like nobody's business, but I'm just wondering what the main memories of the Attitude Era were for all the posters here who were around for it.

For me it has to be Austin vs. McMahon, and my first ever house show and PPV.

Anyone else?

Biggest memories of the attitude era...excellent storylines. The wrestling wasn't always excellent, but midcarders and lower midcards had their own storylines.

Every show in the Attitude Era was exciting and entertaining with excellent storylines. Also, the shows back then were not as predictable as todays crap. You wouldn't hear of Vince McMahon winning the WWF title on Smackdown! nowadays.

The crowd not being as dead as they're today, wrestlers being booked how they should be, writers actually caring about the show, how intense/well booked the feuds were..and so on. Even the shit that was crap was worth watching cause the crowd would get you into it.

lol. I thought I saw double when i read my un in the list of topics!

Mine is practically what TL has said. I do have to admit as well, the comic relief was funny back then too. The Rock's rants, McMahon's big gulp swallowing when Austin came out, the 24/7 rule, Austin running rampage like when McMahon was in hospital and he plays "doctors & patients".

To underline it, I'd say from 97 - 99 (maybe a bit later) it wasn't sports entertainment, it was golden entertainment. Something, I know we just won't see again.

I reckon, if a TV channel run old skool RAW shows weekly against current RAW shows, it really would have a chance of beating it in the ratings. Here in the UK, and maybe even in the US.

I would say from WM14 to Wm 17 was what you would call golden entertainment. I know you said 99 was your last preferred year but you are forgetting 2000 and those infamous E & C promos.

Yeah Austin/McMahon was a big reason I even got into wrestling to begin with. Such perfect chemistry and everything. I think my favourite stuff though was Mankind/The Rock, I loved their entire feud. I basically loved everything Mankind did. Probably the first wrestler I was ever a huge huge huge mark for.
