I plan to get it (secure in my sexuality). Kind of hard to describe, but I'll start with the "controller." You basically play it on a board/pad that looks like a weight scale. Let me grab a pic
http://www.product-reviews.net/wp-content/userimages/2007/07/nintendo-wii-fit-making-gaming-healthy.jpg
Basically stand on that to play games, it can sense which way you lean and shit like that. Like how you shift you weight. It keeps track of your BMI and that. There are different ways to play. They showed one guy doing pushups on it, they used it as a dance pad (ie step areboics) and also used it for like yoga bullshit. Also had a mini game where you lean left to right and on screen you guys leans left or right hitting soccer balls with his head. Certainly is an iinteresting idea, kind of looking forward to it cause I'm a loser. They say it'll be released early 2008, either Q1 or 2 I believe. No price tag for it yet.

lol the guy doing push-ups, still using the chick on-screen
I was actually hoping they would have gratuitous cleavage of a seksi female for the push-ups part.

Okay, how much weight does that little dainty piece of shit support?

Thought the same KK, have a few fatass friends. Should be able to support fat asses so they could lose some weight, cause America is full of fat fucks. Also thought exact same thing as RDD and Kris P while watching it.

Well, I'm fat and tall.
At 6'5" my ideal bodyweight should be like 260. That means if I was in great shape, I would weigh more than most stuff supports safely. And I've got another 40 something pounds on that.
Looks ROFL, but not something I'd do anyway.

Seems interesting, I know I use Wii Sports from time to time to keep active. Sad, yeah but eh. Do other stuff too, but if don't want to go out for whatever reason play around with that for an hour or so. Think Wii Fit could be interesting. I have a problem keeping up with exercises regularly, but if it was a game would do more with it. Again, no substitute for real thing, still run, bike and other stuff but like to mix it up here and there.

I love Wii Sports. They even made golf seem not completely gay. I wouldn't use it for a fitness program, but it is helping me retrain my left shoulder.

Wii Sports is easily the best game on the Wii. Just so much fun, all the games pretty much rock. Although not big on the baseball game which is odd and baseball is one of my favorite sports.
Kane Knight

The baseball game gets retarded, but I love doing the home run bit in practice.
I just hate how you pretty much have to knock it out of the park later on or your ball will get caught. And how your team can barely catch the ball.
I love bowling. and Tennis is fun as Hell. I need to get back into playing the real thing, but my last partner died.

Yeah I am in love with all the other games besides baseball. Pretty awesome at Boxing. Love to play Wii Sports or Wario Warez drunk with bunch of friends. Shit gets crazy, used to do 7th frame shots while playing Bowling.

Boxing doesn't read my moves right. Plus, it annoys me that I can't do things like I usually do in a real fight.
This game was better when it was EyeToy: Kinetic. But I bet Sony just ripped off Nintendo years before they did it.

Yeah boxing is tricky. Doesn't work as well as others, but I work how the game wants me to so I'm pretty unstoppable, especially against human players. Haven't lost yet. Think I knocked out all human players within first round.

I think it shows how awesome a boxing game for the Wii could be, though.
PapaGeorgio
07-14-2007, 06:02 PM
For sure. I mean I'm first to admit controls for that game are probably the worst, but once you get comfortable with it it is pretty good. A full blown boxing game would be awesome, like full 10 round bout going full force would be intense.

The Wii Fit pad could be pretty sweet for other games. Snowboarding could be great, depending on how good the pad actually is. Maybe a combination of the pad, wiimote, and nunchuck for a first person shooter (use the pad for strafing and maybe some other movement)
Snowboarding I could see. Strafing in a FPS would be horrible.
fucking right boxing would be intense. me and the wife are all kinds of sweaty after she knocks my ass out after 2 rounds

Any other fatasses get this game?
PapaGeorgio
05-21-2008, 06:42 PM
So played the game a little. Called me obese and made my Mii super fat to rub it in. But it'll be a good way for me to keep track of it all. I know they say you shouldn't weight yourself daily and just do it like once a week or two, but I'm the type of person who needs to see daily results and that to keep me on track.
As for the games/modes they are fairly interesting. Haven't tried every little option, but some of the stuff was pretty hard to do. Some of the stretches and that were brutal for me to do. The mini-games are meh for the most part. But hopefully I'll keep coming back to this game everyday to at least incorporate some exercise into my day.

This is going to sound especially weird coming from me, but couldn't you just go for a walk or something?
I mean, aside from being a fatass, I'm in pretty damn good shape. I keep my blood pressure and heart rate down, primarily through regular walks and a stationary bike. Why would Wiifit make you work out more?
I mean, I'm not attacking you, I just don't get the mentality.
Though if the board gets more support for other titles, I may buy the shit anyway.

No I understand. I'm as well very healthy in most regards besides the extra pounds. Even then I hold my weight extremely well . On that note I am fairly active person in some regards. But this is just mainly a different way to motivate me I guess. I know the concept of the game is stupid in some senses but hopefully it'll work to keep me focused.
But yeah, the board is supposed to get some more support as time goes on, but dunno how great the games will be. We Ski came out and that is supposed to suck.

It's just like an accessory to monitor yourself presented in a 'fun' way, I guess. It's supposed to improve your balance as well. I dunno, it's fun but I don't think I could go out there to people and say something like 'buy it, it will keep you fit'.
I suppose if you use it you don't have to clutter up your house with fitness equipment for those of us (i.e me) who don't have gym rooms :(

I wouldn't mind getting it just for the board. I'll wait until a game more to my taste comes out.
There's 10 games in development for the Wii Board.
On the subject of Wii Fit, some girl is all upset because Wii Fit called her fat and her mum wants warnings and stuff on the boxes.
Loads of you have been desperate to get a Wii Fit game since it came out in April, but now it's at the centre of a big row after it told a girl she's fat.
Tabea, 11, from Lincolnshire, told her parents she had to diet after the game said she was fat, when she isn't.
The game works out players' body mass index (BMI), which shows if you're the right weight for your height.
But makers Nintendo have admitted the calculations are based on adults and may not be accurate for all children.
Tabea said she was upset by the game's verdict on her weight: "I was a little sad about it because I really don't want to be overweight.
The Wii Fit game gets you to try loads of different exercises and balances
"I went home and told my mum and she was really angry because girls my age shouldn't be worrying about these kind of things."
Some obesity experts are also angry as they say the game could damage the way kids think about their bodies, by telling them they're overweight when they're not.
Some also fear it will make kids obsessed with their weight, and they want Nintendo to put a warning on the boxes.
The BMI index doesn't tell the difference between muscle and fat, so even some top footballers could be classed as obese because they're really muscly and muscle weighs a lot more than fat!
Nintendo has apologised for any offence the terms used to describe a player's BMI are causing, but said it wouldn't be putting any warnings on the games.
I got the story from the ONM site but the story originally came from here (httphttp://news.bbc.co.uk/cbbcnews/hi/newsid_7400000/newsid_7408200/7408200.stm://).

My g/f is getting this game. Dunno when.
Looks alright, I mainly like the function of being able to see changes in weight over time, means it would be easier to monitor changes caused by diet and stuff as well as in game.
I could just buy scales and a piece of paper, but lets face it, I'm not gonna do that.

I can't entirely criticise people on this, anyway. I just bought My French Tutor for the DS. I could pick up some books, or take a class, but in a similar vein to Outsider, I won't do that. This'll give me an actual reason to brush up on French.
So I can kinda see why people would do this. Just not completely.

Rang the store and they don't have any. Nintendo told them that they weren't giving them any, even though the store had been expecting a delivery and had been telling people - most notably me.
Damn, I've been wanting to get one for my girlfriends birthday at the weekend but no shops seem to have any and they are selling for double the price online. I'd buy one but my girlfriend would kick off if I bought one for more than what it's worth.
