View Full Version : Disney owns WWE

As in "pwns."

WWE's been doing good in ratings, with the Tribute to Benoit and such, but as expected, since the ratings have gone down. Last week's Raw had one hour at 3.1 and one at under 2.8, the lowest of the top ten rankings.

5 of the ten shows were Disney shows, most of them Hannah Montana or Zack and Cody. No, all of them were. 4 showings of Zack and Cody were more watched than Raw.

And we're not talking like the Home Run Derby did, either. Or the Closer, which both drew phenomenal ratings.

So...How long until WWE starts hiring Disney writers?

I love how the Disney channel lives in it's own little world. They create their own stars and try to pass them off like they're a big deal, when no one outside their demographic knows, nor cares, who the fuck they are.

Oh.

Actually, you'd be surprised how much of the older pussy watches Disney shows. Trying to get back the innocence they lost in the back of a car, I guess. There have actually been times when I've even caught my dad watching Hannah Montana, intrigued by how Billy Ray Cyrus is involved in it, and then my nephew told him that the girl who plays his daughter is actually his real-life daughter. It was actually a very similar captivation to how he gets trapped occasionally in the WWE.

And I'll confess to having watched a bit of that Zack and Cody show, albeit only for the awesomeness that is Phil Lewis. Hooch is indeed crazy.

So yeah, it's not real surprise to me that Disney kicks the WWE's ass. John Cena is marketted to the Disney age bracket, but the kids and girls obviously prefer the real thing (fuck, if Phil Lewis is involved, so do I), so maybe the WWE will eventually realise that their best hope is to go for the 18-39 year old demographic? Nah!

I don't know if you guys have ever heard any 7-10 year olds talk about the Disney channel, but it's honestly like listening to people talk about this whole other world that is paralell to our own. They talk about some of the Disney kids like they're the biggest fucking shit going.

Exactly right.

And these are probably the same girls who buy into John Cena. Therein lies the WWE's problem competing with Disney. One of my key concerns when they pushed John Cena so hard early on, was that when it comes to choosing between John Cena and a Zac Efron, the girls are going to go with Efron nine times out of ten.

That's why Bring it On draws on nights when WWE doesn't.

Come on, The Suite Life of Zack and Cody is a fucking awful show. I have to watch it at work all the time (home health care for a MENTALLY HANDICAPPED PERSON) because my client loves it. It's terrible.

Network and Cable ratings usually include Idol, Survivor: Whenever, a dozen nick shows, etc.

WWE should move to HBO and just go REALLY fucking crazy. I'd like to see it. Even if only for like a month.

(RAW: LIVE on HBO!)

COACHMAN: Kennedy, I've had enough of this. Tonight, you face Umaga and Booker T in a 2-on-1 Handicap match! And it's no DQ!

MR. KENNEDY: LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, I GIVE TO YOU, THE ONE AND ONLY, MR. ASSHOLE LLLLLLLIIIICKER!!!

COACHMAN: Now, wait a minute!

MR. KENNEDY....LICKER!!!

(BACKSTAGE: Booker T approaches Coachman.)

COACH: Hey, Book.

BOOKER T: Don't "hey" me, nigga. Whatchu doin' puttin me up in your stupid handicap match tonight?

COACH: I need to teach Mr. Kennedy a lesson.

BOOKER T: You mean me? Me teach him a lesson? That's whatchu mean, ain't it nigga?

COACH: Now, Booker...

BOOKER T: I ain't your fucking slave, bitch, you oreo lookin' muh-fucka.

COACH: Now, Booker, I am the interim GM or RAW-

BOOKER T: Fuck you, nigga.

Justin Credible was able to wear a yellow jock strap without letting it get to him. That has to get SOME respect.

KP does have a massive cult-like following (anime-like), and has held it throughout the 4-5 years it's been on the air. One of the main characters is a wrestling fanatic and the writers write it like they are knowledgable about the business and don't just write it off as something silly.

Oh, and that makes me want to see WWE on HBO now...maybe have Bill Mahar "debate" JBL or something, too.

This time around, TNT takes the top two spots, with the ENTIRE rest of the top ten being Disney or Nick.

WWE failed to get enough to rank even #10, which would require them to get 3.0 or better.

Vince, start dialing those Disney writers....
