View Full Version : Raise your hands if you want to see another Chris Masters push. No one? Well too bad.

As of late, Vince McMahon has been talking about how they need to give Chris Masters a push. The feeling is that McMahon is either oblivious or he doesn't care as to how a Masters push may look to the public. It's said Vince is beyond set in his ways in regard to pushing a muscular talent and won't even attempt to change things.

So with MVP/Khali as the heel champs on smackdown, whats Masters going to do?

Beat up on Funaki and Shannon Moore every week.
Move him to RAW.
John Cena vs Chris Masters vs Bobby Lashley in a Clean Piss on a Pole match.

Fucking awesome. Finally. The guy's got some potential. They just need to let him run with it and stop killing his pushes as soon as they start them. He could easily be a big player on SmackDOWN!

I'd like to see him improve in a couple of areas, let's get a new finisher, a complete repackage. He'd be a good face addition. He's got talent.
MORE TALNET THAN KAHALI!

I really wish they wouldn't have ruined The Masterlock with Lashley. As far as improving, sure there's room for that, but I think he's gotten a LOT better than when he started.

I don't watch wrestling much anymore, but that's a crap move IMO. Masters has been around too long (for the fans to be caught in the "novelty" of Masters), and he also lacks talent.
If the WWE are dead serious about increasing their ratings, they'll do the following:
1) Continue to build up Kennedy, MVP, and Umaga.
2) Eventually take the title off Khali, but continue to make him EXTREMELY dominant in non-important matches (one mistake the WWE made with Big Show in late 99', was they took away his "aura of invincibility"....they did the same with Kane). Continue to make Khali be ALMOST unbeatable (have him win most of his matches convincingly). Eventually, it will mean much more down the road when he does the J-O-B on occassions to up-and-comers.
3) If Orton's attitude remains good, re-build him. Have him go over big names. Possibly build Orton/Cena for WM-24. Have them do an "official" heel/face switch during their match at WM-24 (if played off right, it could work....the fans want to cheer for Orton as long as he's not "sucking up" to them....as he did in late 04/early 05').
4) John Cena: Do MORE not LESS with Cena. Instead of people wanting to take the title OFF of Cena, the WWE might be better served by keeping the title ON Cena....but just having him feud with much bigger names (i.e. Undertaker, Batista, a returning Chris Jericho, Austin, and even The Rock at Wrestlemania 24). Keep PUSHING Cena as a face (although the fans will boo the living shit out of Cena). The key is to PUSH Cena as a face though. The moment the WWE "try" and push Cena as a heel, the "energy" from the fans won't be as much (if that makes sense).
5) Lashley will never draw unless he DRAMATICALLY increases his mic skills.
As bland as he is, I see him as a guy that could run at US Title level.

Masters does some decent mic work as well when they let him. Remember that mini-feud with Shawn Michaels?

He has decent mic work, but he still has a pretty limited skill set.
He's also one of those guys that has just been around for too long and hasn't done much of anything.
The WWE can try and re-push him I guess. I just don't think it will materialize into anything special. :-\
Atleast a few years ago with a guy like Christian, the fans LOVED the guy (even though he had been stuck in mid-card hell).

Oh, the fans love Chris Masters. They just don't know it yet.
Same goes for Mike Mizanin.

When Khali drops the title i personally would make him/masters tag champs, i think that's the best way to go if Masters has to be pushed.

Knew Thrilla was gonna be here.
By the way, Zach Gowen could be a big player on Smackdown. When the closest guy you have to a legit star is Kane or Matt Hardy, you're fucked.
On the other hand, a Masters push hurts me in no way, as I wasn't watching to begin with.

His music sort of reminds me of a new-style "Flair".
Anyways, I think the music is right for a heel run as the "urban" doods will give him heat for that alone. But it suits his "serious" / arrogant style. Like up his own arse.
Yeah, I'll give him a chance, like thriller said, let him run with it.

My Priorities are 100 Percent Spot On. Chris Masters is the AntiChrist, I swear it. You all can think I am crazy, but in the End you will see. If Disturbia taught me anything it is that if people think your crazy, just keep pushing until they all get killed. Then they will have to believe you. Nothing sits the truth like a knife in the throat.
But I digress.'
I will post a video of this feat on youtube if Masters ever wins a singles title. Guaranteed.

When Chris Masters first showed up, I thought he was called in too early, and needed some more growing time in OVW. Then the WWE actually attempted to thwart drug-use for a month, and Masters slimmed down. Then the WWE were suddenly out of ideas for him. I felt really sympathetic for the guy, as it should have been the best thing of his career. It was a change to get him away from the one-note Masterpiece character. Instead the WWE proved they are fucking idiots and told him to get on the juice again.
I'm not really feeling a push, at the moment, though. Maybe it's because SmackDown! is fucking shit at the moment. Chris Masters needs to turn face and feud with Finlay for a while, and polish those ring skills a bit. The guy is not horrible in any area, and he has a lot of potential. Jim Cornette used to group him with John Cena, Batista and Randy Orton when talking about the potential WWE stars that came through his OVW. I'm not going to argue with Jim fucking Cornette's opinion.
I think a face turn is probably best for Masters, at this time.

Masters as a fac?e? That would require a huge effort from WWE.
You know, compared to their usual lazy assed shit. It's not that hard, but...

The guys gimmick is that he thinks he is better than everyone, and he has the best body.....so How is that going to translate to being a face? As a hell they can hide his lack of charisma, and people hating him because he sucks is good, because that = heat (as good a heat as any hell gets these days) but he has no skills to get over as a face. No one will buy it.
