Wrestling Manager Nominees
Welcome to the first nomination thread for the 1st Annual TPWW Wrestling Hall Of Fame Voting.
The nominations you see here were selected by 11 members of the TPWW Wrestling Forum Committee; Myself, BDC, KOOS, Xero, mrslackalack, NeanderCarl, Loopydate, WWKD, KayfabeMan, Rob and James Steele.
We each selected 4 nominees for each respected category.
The Categories were as follows: Top Level Wrestler, Mid Level Wrestler, Tag Team, Manager and Misc (i.e someone who has contributed a lot to the business that may not fall in the other categories)
Now we pass the torch to the TPWW Community to help elect our first Hall of Famer from this Category. There will be four other categories to follow, in which four more electees will be chosen, completing are Class of 2007
Please cast ONE Vote for this category. At voting close, the top 3 guys will move on to the Final voting for the Veterans Committee. From there, the committee will have a final vote to elect our 1st TPWW Hall of Famer from this category.
So, Let the Voting Begin

If I knew it would be THIS bad, I would've placed my vote for Blassie.

I'm thinking for these situations, there should be no need for another final vote by the comittee. No point.

WHAT THE FUCK!?!?!?!?! ONLY ONE VOTE FOR FREDDIE BLASSIE!?!?!?!?

People love Freddie Blassie. But people REALLY love Bobby Heenan.
This is the kind of thing I was talking about, LC.

Gotta consider the mean age of posters here.

Not much love for Corny.
I also have to wonder if any of those votes for Heenan are the result of someone remembering his announcing career and not his managerial.

The Heenan Family was gold.

Okay, so who is the better manager? The man who pissed people off so badly that they yelled and chanted mean things, or the man who pissed people off so badly people stabbed him, threw acid on him, lit his car on fire, and stabbed him again?

yes, I know. I not saying I don't disagree with you on how the votes will turn out. But it's fair to have a mix of wrestling history at least on the ballots as to not skew anything. one of the reasons I wanted WWKD on the committe was he has a great Japanese background on wrestling history.
Maybe some people here might learn something new.

So if a wrestling personality is desired dead over another, he's obviously the better of the two? Is that seriously your argument?

Freddie Blassise could make heat even if he was stuck in a solid block of ice (worst metaphor ever). Anyone that was near him would be over. Don't misunderstand, much love to Bobby the Brain and everything he has done, and everything he still does, but I was only going to compaire Blassie to whomever had to most votes.
The Brain is awesome, and is seriously one of a kind. With that in mind, and with all due respect, he's no Freddie Blassie.

People (wrestling fans in particular) were also a lot dumber in the days of Freddie Blassie. If Heenan were around then, who's to say people wouldn't have wanted to kill him?

Same thing with Hulkamania, The Austin Era, and WCW's downfall.
It's all a matter of timimg.
I'm not saying that people wouldn't want to kill Bobby. And until we can find a "What If" machine, we'll never know what would have happened if we invtend the thinglonger.

Read his book. Heenan had major heat. I'd say nearly if not definitely comparable to Blassie's.
He was around before his WWF days, dontchewknow?

Should of put women and managers together...
You cannot induct one of each every time.
Who the fuck voted for the man beast?

and that's exactly why I personally wanted a committe of guys who know wrestling history. You can see why in every one of the threads. Can you imagine the nominees had there not been?

Either way, Percy.

It was me, and he wasn't even on my nominees list. Sad to say, he didn't occur to me when I was making it.
Speaking of the nominees lists, LC, are you still planning on posting everyone's TT and Manager nominees like you did for the Top Level category?
J.J. Dillon was money but I think Heenan is a clear choice. J.J. might come soon after, though. :y:

Because I was bored, I went through and tallied the number of times each nominee appeared on a ballot. Heenan was a unanimous nominee among the eleven committee members. Freddie Blassie was the only other manager to be named on over half of the ballots. Paul Bearer, Jim Cornette, and Jimmy Hart each appeared on four. The remaining ten only received one or two nominations.

Heenan was the clear choice, but I threw in a vote for "The Mouth of the South".
I can't believe how many votes Heyman has, people will vote for him for about anything won't they?
Dangerous Alliance and 2 world champions in the WWF not enough of a reason?
I am quite disappointed to see that Ralphus is not a nominee.
