Not even remotely surprising since I can't even recall the last time he was on television.

I don't understand why they would keep Grenier over Dupree though. That just seems silly to me.

Who cares

I doubt too many aside from myself. Dupree always amused me and he wasn't terrible in the ring either.

I like Sylvain, i think he would rise to the challenge of an upper card push quite well

At least I'll never have to hear the phrase "French Tickler" on WWE TV again.

It's about time. I hate it when WWE dicks around with people, keeping them off tv for 6 months and then just throwing them away. Either use the guy or don't; stop wasting people's time.

Rene Dupree has quite a bit of potential. He's the youngest champion the WWE has ever had. Everyone used to agree he had a pretty good upside. I've read that his release may have something to do with drug testing.

I've always like Rene Dupree better than Sylvain Grenier, yet they are keeping Grenier, who is not awful, but come on. He has a lot to learn, too. I was kind of hoping the WWE would bring Rene and Sylvain back as La Resistance, with Maryse as their bitch. Fuck, bring them in as comedic faces, and have them feud with Dave Taylor and Paul Burchill representing England. That would have helped polish Dupree and Grenier off.

I think Dupree should look into working with Ring of Honor. He might not seem to fit their usual preference in wrestler, but he's solid in the ring (not unlike Tank Toland), and he is still young, so he is probably still impressionable in the ring. Get him to spend some time in the ROH school, and working with the Bryan Danielsons, Austin Arieses and Roderick Strongs. Either that, or he can give Rob Conway a call, and ask if he wants to team up with Rene on the indie scene.

Dupree would get the Jeff Hardy treatment in ROH

Dupree would get the Jeff Hardy treatment in ROH

Hmm, I disagree. I mean, you're right, it's certainly a possibility, especially if they made a big deal about him. But look at Tank Toland. When he started there was a bit of heat, sure, but he's a member of Sweet N' Sour International now, and he's quite entertaining in his role.

I don't think it would be a brilliant idea if he showed up and was used as an attraction (like Jeff Hardy was), but I think if the guy signed up for ROH's school, took some classes under Bryan Danielson, Austin Aries and Roderick Strong, he could debut as a solid act with a chance of getting over. I mean, the guy is not horrible in the ring.

The other option is for Rene Dupree to go work in other independent promotions, hoping to get chances with IWA-MS, FIP and even PWG, until he impresses enough to be considered one of the "wet dreams" of the indie circuit. I guess there is Japan, as well.

Rene Dupree is still really young, so I don't think it's fair to right him off as a failure, yet. And if he showed up in ROH, you are definitely right, he will get booed. I think there is hope for him to find a niche like Tank Toland did, though.
