So, I think it's about time I got my Wii online and started using the virtual console etc.
The thing is, I don't really know much about it. Can somebody give me a step-by-step guide on this?
Where to get the thing that sends the wireless signals to the Wii and how exactly the Virtual Console point card works.
If you can help me get my DS to play games online aswell, I'd appreciate it.
Any help would be great and, obviously, I'd rep who ever helped out.

I'd suggest looking there. The DS is fairly easy to set up. First you need to put in a game that is an online game (Tetris, Mario Kart, Animal Crossing, etc.) and click the WiFi/Online option for the game. Then there should be an option for WiFi Setup, click that. Search for an access point, confirm it is good and you are alright. If you still have troubles just search google or something.

PapaGeorgio pretty much got the getting online part covered. And the Nintendo thing that gets you online without a wireless router is sold anywhere that sells videogames.
The points for the VC work in two ways: 1) You go to a store that carries points cards (like Best Buy), buy the card, go home, and enter the points into the Wii Store or 2) buy the points straight from the Wii Store with a credit card (for reference, $10 = 1000 points)

So you buy the card, use it, then throw it away and buy a new one? I thought once you used all the points on it, you could get it swiped at certain places to get more points put on.
Thanks for the help, both of you guys :y:

I dunno how the cards work; I just buy the points with my debit card straight from the Wii Shop

I'll ask an employee at GAME next time I'm in town.

In the UK, it's cheaper to buy Wii Points direct in the Wii Shop, but if you have to buy points cards, then you buy them from the store, scratch the back off, and enter a code, like an old style mobile phone top up.
They also come in their own Wii Case which makes a nice replacement if you break one of yours.
