<font color=goldenrod>Well, since I'm bored and with a lot of time on my hands, here’s my version of WrestleMania XX. For the record, all the matches are listed in face vs. heel format:
<b>Heat: Over-The-Top-Rope Battle Royal</b>
This match would basically be an excuse to give everyone a match for this night. They could have a cash bonus on the line, or if they wanted to go the WrestleMania 4 route, a trophy would be up for grabs. The participants would be everyone from both Raw and Smackdown that didn’t have a scheduled match. If my math is correct, there would be 25 or so guys involved, and based on my version of WrestleMania, the majority of the guys in there would be Raw guys. It’d basically be your average battle royal. I’d give the win to either Matt Hardy, Lance Storm, Steven Richards, Rhyno, or Sean O’Haire. Although knowing the WWE, they’d have someone like Hardcore Holly or A-Train win.
FALL OUT FROM THIS MATCH: Meh, I dunno. I guess the winner would receive a bit of a push, especially if it’s Hardcore Holly or A-Train.
The promo video and pyro kicks in and we are welcomed by Cole and Tazz. We then send it over to JR and the King for our first match of the evening.
<b>World Tag Team Titles: Booker T and Rob Van Dam (C) vs. Mark Jindrak and Garrison Cade</b>
Formulaic tag team opener. Jindrak and Cade get the win and the belts when Jindrak gets a roll-up pin on Booker T and Jindrak’s feet are under the ropes (being grabbed by Cade).
FALL OUT FROM THIS MATCH: Jindrak and Cade join Evolution the next night on Raw. RVD and Booker T could possibly split and feud for a match at Backlash.
<b>Tag Team Evening Gown Match: Torrie Wilson and Sable vs. Stacy Keibler and Jackie Gayda</b>
Yeah, I guess it’s best to get this over with early. I don’t even care enough to think about any of the happenings in the match. Torrie and Sable win.
FALL OUT FROM THIS MATCH: Nothing.
<b>WWE United States Title: John Cena vs. The Big Show (C)</b>
It’d be interesting to see if Cena can carry Big Show to a decent contest. Show would likely get in the most offense before Cena makes a comeback and eventually gets the win and the belt after the F-U.
FALL OUT FROM THIS MATCH: Cena gets a fairly long run as U.S. champ, getting himself and the belt more over in the process. Knowing the WWE, Show would likely receive his yearly main event push after this match, although I guess it’s good to get it out of the way early.
<b>WWE Women’s Title: Victoria (C) vs. Molly Holly</b>
This should be better than the evening gown match on every level imaginable. Victoria pulls out the successful title defense after the Widow’s Peak. Afterwards, I’d have Lita attack Victoria, turning her heel and setting up a potential match for Backlash.
FALL OUT FROM THIS MATCH: Lita and Matt Hardy get back together as heels. Lita and Victoria feud for the belt climaxing at Backlash. This also opens up the chance for a Hardy vs. Richards feud. As for Molly, as much as I hate to say it, I see her just disappearing for a good long while.
<b>15-Man Cruiserweight Open for the WWE Cruiserweight Title</b>
Rules are simple. Pinfalls and submissions are the only way to get eliminated. Prior to the event, only 12 guys are announced as being in it: Chavo, Rey, Tajiri, Noble, Akio, Sakoda, London, Kidman, Nunzio, Moore, Ultimo, and Funaki. All of them make their entrances first (entrances could be shortened to save time). Spike Dudley comes out as the 13th guy. The announcers speculate that he might have signed a new deal with Smackdown (because on the Raw in weeks leading up Spike might have gotten fired). Dean Malenko comes out next to a huge pop, and it is announced that he is coming out of retirement for this one match only. Jeff Hardy comes out last, to a HUGE pop. He rushes the ring and the match begins.
Hopefully this match will get some decent time, have great spots, and allow everyone involved to show their stuff. I see Chavo retaining, last pinning Jeff Hardy via cheating.
FALL OUT FROM THIS MATCH: Chavo and Jeff feud. Spike is indeed revealed as having signed a Smackdown contract. Aside from this, the cruiserweight division stays pretty much the same.
<b>Four Corners Elimination Match for the WWE Tag Team Titles: Scotty 2 Hotty and Rikishi (C) vs. The APA vs. The World’s Greatest Tag Team vs. The Basham Brothers</b>
This will likely be similar to the elimination four corners match at WrestleMania X8. I see the APA going out first, followed by the Basham Brothers. The World’s Greatest Tag Team pull out the win with the Haas of Pain on Scotty 2 Hotty, making them 2-0 at WrestleMania.
FALL OUT FROM THIS MATCH: The World’s Greatest Tag Team give the belts some credibility. As for the other 3 teams, I dunno. They’ll just be there really.
<b>Battle for Trish: Chris Jericho vs. Christian</b>
It’s Jericho vs. Christian, do I really need to say anything? Jericho gets the win after the Lionsault. Has a great chance at being a MOTY candidate. Afterwards, Trish comes out and she and Jericho get all romantic and they leave together in a corny scene.
FALL OUT FROM THIS MATCH: Jericho and Trish are now officially labeled as a couple. Jericho is now a 100% full-fledged face. He could even receive a World Title push. As for Christian, I see him remaining a strong midcarder, and definitely see him winning the Intercontinental Title before the end of the year.
<b>No Disqualification Tag Team Match: The Rock and Sock Connection vs. Randy Orton and Batista</b>
All-out brawl. The crowd should be super hot throughout the entire thing. Orton and Batista get the win in the end following an RKO on Foley onto a steel chair.
FALL OUT FROM THIS MATCH: Orton becomes a legit upper midcarder, possibly even main eventer. Batista remains a very strong midcarder. Foley disappears for a long while. Rock goes off to make more movies.
<b>The Undertaker vs. Kane</b>
While the match quality itself would likely be pretty mediocre, seeing the old school Taker back would more than make up for it for me. Plus the environment would be awesome. Taker gets the win after the Tombstone Piledriver and goes 12-0 at WrestleMania.
FALL OUT FROM THIS MATCH: I honestly don’t know. I’m guessing Taker would end up on Raw officially, but I really haven’t got a clue.
<b>WWE Title: Eddie Guerrero (C) vs. Kurt Angle</b>
As with Jericho/Christian, just by looking at the names of these two guys, I doubt that I have to say anything. Eddie retains after the Frog Splash. Definite MOTY candidate.
FALL OUT FROM THIS MATCH: Eddie holds the WWE Title until Judgment Day, where he’d likely drop it. I’m not sure who he’d drop it to, although I’m guessing Angle in a re-match.
<b>Goldberg vs. Brock Lesnar – Special Referee: Stone Cold Steve Austin</b>
As with Taker/Kane, the environment should make up for the fact that the match may not be all that good. Brock gets the win after the F-5. I also think Goldberg may be in line for a Stone Cold Stunner.
FALL OUT FROM THIS MATCH: Brock goes back to Smackdown and remains a perennial main eventer. Goldberg’s contract isn’t renewed and as a result he leaves shortly after Mania. Austin stays on Raw and keeps his “sheriff” role.
<b>World Heavyweight Title: Chris Benoit vs. Shawn Michaels vs. Triple H (C)</b>
COULD be a MOTY candidate if HHH just sits around and lets Benoit and HBK do most of the work. I can see HHH hitting the Pedigree on Michaels. All the smarks are like, “NOOOOOO!” but as the ref starts counting, Benoit soars off the top rope in a diving headbutt, and it breaks up the pin after about 2 and a half. Benoit covers BOTH HHH and HBK after the headbutt. 1-2-3. New champion.
The fans get on their feet, the smarks orgasm, and Champion of Europa nearly commits suicide. Eddie Guerrero’s music hits and Eddie comes out with the WWE Title. He and Benoit embrace. As if things couldn’t get better for the fans…
BRET HART’S music hits and Bret comes out as everyone in Madison Square Garden is made deaf by all of the cheering. Bret is followed by the rest of the face WWE locker room. From here, both Eddie AND Benoit receive a celebration similar to the Bret Hart celebration at WM10. After the show, Bret Hart, Eddie, and Benoit give exclusive speeches that get put on the WM20 DVD.
FALL OUT FROM THIS MATCH: Benoit gets a strong run as champ. HBK turns heel and he and Benoit face off at Backlash. HHH gets kicked out of Evolution and feuds with the stables new leader, Randy Orton.
Well, there we go. That’s my booking of WrestleMania. Thoughts on it would be GREATLY appreciated.</font>
