Because whoever had next week is right.....from PWInsider


The USA Network sent out an advisory today announcing that Raw will open on Monday with the first appearance of "WWE Chairman Mr. McMahon" after a "prolounged absence."

Obviously, with the huge ratings drop in recent weeks, WWE is going to try and bring out the big guns to fight the decline. The return of the "Mr. McMahon" character will be the first step in that effort.

They should do a storyline where Jericho is blackmailing Vince.

I'll put money that a WWE creative meeting is just a bunch of people in a sandbox putting their head in the sand. They have no idea what they're doing.

Unless Vince's return is along the lines of "So, in the couple of months since I've been gone, not a damn thing has changed. And, frankly, I'd rather have actually been in that limousine than watch another week of this stuff. So we're shaking things up!"

Kinda like when WCW "rebooted" in 1999/2000. Only... y'know... better.

I love that out of all the stars they could bring in to try and cure their current predicament, they choose fucking Vince McMahon. Nobody watch this shit.

There's a good chance Vince will do something wacky like fire himself, and put Shane in charge (storyline-wise, at least), but really, what does that change? They should be opening up RAW with a memorable match, not a forgettable appearance by an old man who overrates his worth as an on-screen character to the company.

However, that being said, if Vince comes out, strips John Cena of the WWE Championship because he sucks, and has a new belt which will go to the winner of a tournament that will conclude at Summerslam, I will change my tune.

I think you underestimate just how amazing it would be to see Vince come out with a real belt, tell Cena that he has been misrespresenting the WWE, and hold a tournament for the now vacant Championship. The storyline purpose would be that Vince wants the WWE to return to its state of glory, and that doesn't include John Cena in his vision.

Hell, it might actually turn John Cena into a sympathetic babyface. Or not. Who cares, I just don't want him to be Champion.

I don't want him as champion either, but I think that that is just ridiculous. If Cena could be made to either be injured or at least miss a show, or even a match, or something like that, then that would be OKAY, in my view.

I dunno, but I kind of think he's got something here. I'm not saying I'd bet the farm on it or anything, but considering how flat the programming's been, this sounds like a step up.
