Yeah, the distributor guy at the video store was like, "did you hear? Star Wars, September, man." I was like "what, so. I don't care. But I bet Vega would appreciate this."

September 21. 4 disc box set, the three original movies and a bonus disc, just like the Indiana Jones shit.

That's pretty cool. I wonder what, if any, extras will be on them. If there's not a lot I probably won't bother getting it since I have the whole "special edition" on VHS already.

Well, they're gonna heap on a ton of extras to get more people to shell out.

For me it'll be worth it just to get a digital version of Star Wars...

You know, the ones worth mentioning...

I remember someone posted something about the Star Wars guys wanting to "remake" the original 3 with computer animation or some shit. Hopefully that's not what this is. :o

Naw.

There was also the "How I Always Envisioned" Star Wars...Where Lucas adds in further revisions to the story...

When I hear stuff like this, a quote by Quentin Tarantino on the Pulp Fiction DVD comes to mind:

"I made the movie I wanted the FIRST time."

Anyone seen that episode of South Park where the kids start up a group against the re-making of films.

"Free Hat!"

And a similar one from Kevin Smith about how the movie that makes the theaters is really the director's cut...I think it was on the special edition of Dogma.

They finished shooting in September of 2003, and it is set to release on May 25, 2005.

Anyway, I liked the Special Edition ones, but I agree, they should release the original. Some of the CGI in the SE ones are horrible. The Special Editions are a perfect example of how Lucas abuses CGI. When it was used to enhance scenes here and there and correct mistakes from the old technology it was great. Empire is the best of the SE cause it's been messed with the least. The Jabba scene, Greedo shooting first (good God!), and the musical number in Jabba's palace all suck...big time. Thank God i have the originals on tape, although I've lost the cover to them and I've watched them so many times I have to press the tracking button every now and then, I am still glad I have them.

Yeah, the major problem with the Special Edition ones were how much the CGI stood out in places. Sore thumb.

Let's combine the pinnacle of 90s effects with the pinnacle of 70s effects...It'll look AWESOME! :shifty:

I didn't care much about who shot first, but man did it look godawful.

I might've enjoyed the humour of that dance number, but it just didn't look like it fit. Kinda killed it.

Just leave it as it is. If you want to redo the series, just remake the movies.

They managed to spoil the Ewok jamba as well.

How can you spoil an Ewok orgy, I ask!

It's like the WWE, you think they can't spoil something so good but somehow manage to.

Poor little Ewoks.

For some reason, I laughed my ass off at that.

Too bad it's true.

I saw episode 1 and thought "It can't get any worse..."

Then I saw Episode 2 and thought "Why did I have to say that?"
