I have a mixed bag on this one.
1) I am looking forward to where things thing goes with Vince's bastard offspring. It is a double edged sword though...I think it will either be very interesting or a horrible letdown, no middle ground. And more than likely, it will be a horrible letdown and just another thing not to give a damn about.
2) I didn't like the dating game sequence, but I guess I did like the aspect that it gave Regal something to do on TV and it actually had Santino Marella developing his character. So there where two positives to draw from it.
3) I'm iffy on Regal as GM. I'm glad he'll probably be on TV more, but I don't want to see him done with wrestling. I'm hoping he books himself into the IC title picture and winds up holding the belt.
4) I'm iffy on this too...I missed Jeff Hardy. Not something I thought I would say either. But, I missed Jeff Hardy. He was really getting on a roll and this suspension is going to kill his momentum, and he'll probably never have another opportunity to rise to the top.
5) I like the Umaga face turn. He was getting a little stale, but honestly I think they can just turn him face and not really change his character at all, and it would still be refreshing enough.
6) I don't want to see King Bookah and King Lawler wrestle each other anymore. I don't want to see Lawler wrestle anymore period and I wish he would quit coming back to have these little mini-fueds with peope that culminate in horrible matches, sometimes at a PPV. I don't want to pay for that shit. Maybe 20 years ago...not now.
Final Thought: Raw overall scores a 5/10 for me. Right in the middle of the road. Better than some of the shit as of late, but not an overlly entertaining show. It was okay, and I'll leave it at that.

i) About damn time, I live for this post.
1) Yeah, it means Vince is going to be all over the tv now, but it might be entertaining.
2) It was gay, but at the same time it is giving Santino some depth.
3) Regal makes for a great authority.
4) It is Jeff's own damn fault
5) I agree, Umaga is great
6) Lawler does suck. And who ever "wrestles" him has to step down to his level of just punching so Lawler doesn't look like the assclown he is.

1) The illegitimate child storyline grabbed my attention at first, but I am not going to trust the WWE on this. The more I think about it, the more I think this is a horrible idea. Now that the initial "shock" of the moment has worn off, they're going to need good writing to get it somewhere when (or if?) people tune in next week. Good luck, WWE. You're going to need it.
2) I haven't actually seen the dating game yet, but Regal is awesome and Santino getting development is good. I'm not sure if I'm OK with the idea of Maria getting so much screen-time, though. She's gorgeous, but couldn't that time go to someone worth a damn?
3) William Regal as General Manager is definitely a mixed bag. I agree with you entirely. Regal has too much too offer in the ring, so I hope this is not going to keep him out of it too much. This will allow him a lighter schedule, though, so it might do some good for his career.
4) Jeff Hardy was not missed by your's truly. He has been good since returning, but I don't know if I see him as "important" yet. It's probably his own fault for getting suspended, so he only has himself to blame. When he returns he will get a big pop, and the WWE will probably forget about it, anyway.
5) Umaga has needed to turn face for a while, so I'm glad they finally did it. His turn sounds almost fun. We don't get enough turns these days, guys just ease in and out of heel roles without much excitement. Umaga will be a lot more interesting as a face, but I'm still not sold on the charatcer. It's sympathetic in its impairment enough to do well, though. A Samoan savage in this era really should be a face. Their stints as relevant heels have long since expired.
6) This interaction between King Booker and Jerry Lawler was a good idea, except it should have just been that: an interaction. Booker should have told Lawler to kiss his ring, and Lawler should have accepted, and praised Booker as his new King. That gets Jerry back to being a heel, and a Hell of a lot more enjoyable. That Booker did not squash Lawler in their match was depressing, and doesn't give me much hope for his feud with Triple H (not that there was much, anyway).

I don’t really have much in the way of “insights” on last night’s episode of RAW, but I do believe it was a much more solid effort than has been put forth in recent weeks. The only segment I’d like to address here is the WWE Dating Game segment. I found it to be perhaps the most enjoyable part of the night, aside from Regal becoming the new RAW General Manager. Overall I’d give last night’s edition a C+/B-.

Intentional?
It was a nice two minute vehicle for them to totally crash the one hit Ron Simmons.

Good news!
RAW got a 3.8, so we're getting more Vince and more of last night!
oh yeah it isn't good news

Last night wasn't that bad, but it wasn't that good either. So, yeah. Maybe...I'm not going to suggest anything, it won't happen anyhow.

Higher than it has been.
I had pointed out that this wouldn't be an overnight thing, so this is a start. I'm giving them a few weeks to be able to establish something new, and in all fairness to the WWE, many of the things that got many of the other promotions over the years took time to get going and to have it catch on.
I at first thought that Regal as GM was going to be a wash, but this might turn out to be a good thing if they don't make him heel. RAW has had too many heel "boss" characters that it would be refreshing to see a change. The Dating Game thing was funny, especially with Ron Simmons, although he needs to have a much larger role, like, say, ACTUALLY WRESTLING!! I liked that Regal was cracking on them, too.
Is it me, or is Umaga's face turn sort of coming out of nowhere? Don't get me wrong, I like it, but he's turning face for no real good reason other than "he can". Granted, I haven't been watching RAW these past few weeks or reading up on anything about this, as this is the first RAW I was curious of in a few weeks, so can anyone inform me on where Umaga's face turn came from?
The "bastard" child has "we can fuck this up royally" written all over it. They could get someone who sucks, have it be some sort of midget, have it be KK, for all we know right now (no wonder he mocks me. He's Vince's illegitimate son,:rofl: ). Hopefully they can pull their heads out of their asses long enough to come up with something GOOD here.
By the way, Cena was slightly entertaining with the interviewing himself thing.
Like I said, wasn't going to go from sucky to OH MY FUCKING GOD in one week, so we need to wait to see where they go with some of these ideas.

Yes, but it's been so low that STOCKS TANKED. So that's not saying much.

Everyone knew it wouldn't be overnight. However, we were expecting some change. If there was some, I must've blinked.

Simmons was lame as fuck. The Dating game was a waste of five minutes (However long it really was). GMs only really work as heels.

He was feuding with Jeff. Jeff fucked up. Jeff no be on show.

They can't. They put on a regular show in the face of tanking ratings.

No moreso than usual, though.

Like I said, nobody expected it to go from suck to brilliant. Just not from suck to a lateral form of suck.

It didn't feel like a full blown face turn for Umaga. It seemed like they're making him more of a tweener, and the reason he got mad at Orton and Carlito was because they were trying to boss him around and tell him what to do.
I was looking forward to an Umaga face turn, but pairing him with Cena just makes him REALLY heel.
Anyway, i thought Raw was very good this week, on the road to redemption. TNA is still better though.

I think with Umaga, they should have him and Cena cut a promo. In some fashion, Cena should ask why he didn't hit him with his move. Umaga should say something like "out of respect of your profession" or give Cena a little credit, but not too much. Then Cena can give him the verbal rub and there you go. Explanation granted.

Something like "I don't like you, but I like them less" would be REALLY refreshing right now. Possibly a sort of tenuous alliance. Not TRULY a face turn, and they don't trust one another.
