Ok so I downloaded the Stranglehold demo and it works offline on my system just fine (Gold Account). My friend brought his hard drive over and downloaded it and it played online. When he got home and tried it on his system it didn't work. He just keep hitting play and nothing happens. He has a Silver account and no internet at home btw.

This happened with a few videos too like the Resident Evil 5 vid, which we even brought his console over and downloaded it and it still didn't work offline.
What's the deal and how can we get it to work?

Was it downloaded using your gamer tag or his? I'm guessing yours, so theres your problem. When things are downloaded from XBL its assigned to the gamer tag that downloaded it, no matter where you save it. The reason it's not working is because it needs your gamer tag to open it.

No it was his. We created one with a free silver account because he does'nt have internet. He brings his hard drive over and uses his gamertag on my console to download shit.

If it's saved to the console and memory unit it should work, whether it was his gamer card or not

Pretty sure you need to be connected to the internet to view/play at least some of the content.

dont think so...i switch between my modem and 360 cause im too cheap to get a router, if im just playing demos or games offline i usualy dont connect and never had a problem playing or watchin anything, obviously that was already d/l to my 360

Yeah I can play the demo on my system offline. Maybe it's a Gold/Silver Xbox live account thing. Dunno.

Thought I read somewhere that for some content you must be online. Probably mis-read.

Nah, some content you download only works when connected to live.
