I think it was supposed to be something to do with Goldust, but he was then released so nothing came about from it.

Booker T have an actual storyline?
Triple H must have let his guard down, then once he realized his mistake, the only alternative was to let Booker or Goldust go. Since Goldust predicted a World Heavyweight Title run in a recent interview on wwe.com, Triple H chose to terminate Goldust.

I think it had to do with Kane, because Kane said 2 weeks later that he remembers Booker T had his wrestle mania 19 shot.

It was supposed to be Goldust behind the notes but Dustin Runnels was released so it wound up just being another case of McMahon Memory Syndrome. I believe Goldust was probably slated to turn heel.
