View Full Version : Which performers do you actually respect at the moment?

I mean, forget about the like/hate thing, what about respect?

I respect Val Venis for being the longest running jobber since the Brawler and not bitching about it like many midcard-for-lifers before him.

I respect a few of the divas for actually giving a shit about their in-ring performances.

I respect Steven Regal for what he's achieved despite being British and not having the physique that you need these days.

That's probably about it. It doesn't matter what the others have achieved, youngest champ, longest running champ. I don't have much respect for any of them. Maybe that's the problem.

I respect The Great Khali. His punjabi ways have chopped their way into my heart  .

Booker T (For his work ethic throughout his career)
Chris Jericho (If he were to come back)
Shawn Michaels (Has been a dick but is constantly a top tier performer)
Triple H (Same as HBK)
Christian Cage (For promoting TNA without trashing WWE and not acting like he's lost his mind)

Probably some others but those were my first thoughts

I respect John Cena for making the best out of what the writers give him. They may put him in horrible angles with horrible workers in horrible matches, but every time he goes out there he doesn't "phone it in", he gives at least a decent performance from his end. It seems like he gives a shit about what he's doing, which is more than can be said about more than half the roster.

At the end of the day it's the writing fucking him up, he would MORE than adequate at carrying the company with decent writing. Cena is making the best of a shitty situation and can be a great sports entertainer.

Kane - Self explained
Taker - 17 years, and still (barely) going
HHH - Coming back after his second torn quad.

.....uhhhh......hmmmm.......You know by your logic you're missing "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair. You must respect Ric Flair more than The Undertaker because Ric has been in the game longer than the dead man.

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

HBK - Might be an asshole, but he still gives us everything he's got.
Christian - For standing up to WWE, taking a gamble by leaving.
Chris Jericho - Don't really need to explain this
Triple H - Despite the politics, he works his ass off
The Undertaker - The mans a legend, still going strong after nearly two decades.
Booker T - I don't like him as a performer, but I can't criticise his work ethic and consistancy.
John Cena - Hated as he is, he does put in an incredible amount of effort.

Kurt Angle would usually be on this list, but he has talked so much bollocks since joing TNA, hes dropped off.

Definitely agree with you on this point. I think if they went back to how things used to be and let wrestlers go on promos and let him be the heel everyone wants him to be, then he'd be great. Hell, I even think he could be a good face given that the writers wouldn't make him superman

I'm not really sure, but I'll tell you who I don't respect, Batista. He sucks and doesn't care.

I have a ton of respect for Cena... To take everything that he has to take on a nightly basis and not crumble under the pressure says something.

Always seemed like a classy guy and one of the real "good guys" in the business too. That's what kind of gets to me is when he goes out as a face and gets booed, it kinda makes it seem like, since Cena the character is supposed to be getting cheered, everyone must hate Cena the man. Sucks that that's the impression that is given off because I've never heard a bad thing about the man personally.

I understand where you are coming from, but I also understand where the Cena sucks chants come from.

I mean, I respect all wrestlers in the sense that they're putting their bodies on the line for my entertainment. Aside from that, I try not to attach to much emotional detachment to people on television. I might be a huge fan of someone's work, and respect some of the things that they've done, but I don't know any of these people in real life.
