There seems to be no audio output from my PC.

I have my PC hooked up to my LCD TV and the sound goes through it. Haven't had a problem with it but now there is absolutely no sound coming through.

Any ideas?

check your volume levels? A Tick in the bottom = mute. Might just be the output turned down.

You've checked all your cables?
Are your soundcard drivers all working?
Is the input volume on the TV turned up?
What kind of connection do you use? Soundcard to RCA on the TV?

Start > Run > Type in "services.msc" without quotes > Scroll down to Windows Audio, make sure it is enabled. If it isn't, enable it.

Yep

Are your soundcard drivers all working?
Dunno. Is that what Requiem instructed cos I've done that.

Is the input volume on the TV turned up?
All other inputs work. DVD & PS2 are both fine.

What kind of connection do you use? Soundcard to RCA on the TV?
Just a normal PC to monitor cable. Has worked perfectly up until now!

that kind of cable won't carry sound. Are you sure you haven't just been listening to it through your PC sound system?

Dudeit's worked like that for 6 months or so.

The TV has the correct input and their are no speakers even attached to the PC!

Hmmm, although come to think of it, perhaps the sound was carried by an audio wire that may well have fallen out when I shifted the tower a couple days back.

Shame I'm not gonna be home til tomorrow night to check!!
