He's still wrestling. I got to see him wrestle Chris Hero in NYC on saturday for ring of honor. I believe he still wrestles regularly for Chikara as well.

From what I heard the WWE pulled out at the last moment. They claimed it was because Claudio didn't have a green card. Which led to Claudio's response here. taken from www.myspace.com/claudiocastagnoli
'Ladies and Gentlemen this is an official statement issued by one Castagnoli Claudio.
There have been rumors about my status as a US resident, my visa, work visa and so forth.
Those rumors are FALSE.
These rumors hurt me, my integrity and my status in this country and business.
I'm a man of honor, pride and integrity.
I do have a green card or permanent resident card if you will and also do have a social security number. In case you don't know, you need both of these in order to be and work in this country legally.
So before so called "News Sites" and "Newsletters" release heavy statements or rumors like that, they should really do their job. It's called research.
Let me close by saying there was and is nothing wrong with my visa or residential status.
Sincerely,
Castagnoli, Claudio"

From reading that it appears that the WWE claimed no such thing.
So before so called "News Sites" and "Newsletters" release heavy statements or rumors like that, they should really do their job. It's called research.
Still that tells me all I need to know.

I would have really liked if Claudio signed with WWE. He is a really great worker, and could have really made a name for himself, IMO. But, you never know, maybe he'll get to sign a deal.
As for now, I'll just enjoy his work in ROH. His match with Hero on Saturday night was great :y:.

You know what match would have been great. Claudio Vs a healthy Rey Mysterio Jr. Claudio is great at playing the "big man" against smaller wrestlers, but at the same time is quick enough to keep up with them.
