The best wrestlers in the world are in the WWE.

Discuss.

No they're all in small time indie companies pretending to be national organizations...it's just when they "sell out" and show up in WWE, Vince McMahon makes them become all watered down. :shifty:

Not all of them but most of them. Currently I wish the wwe could just balance the amount of Wrestling and Entertainment content.

I'm just curious, do you even bother to watch the indies, or do you just bash them?

I know I've watched ROH, which is to be considered the best Indie promotion in the USA, and they suck, maybe not as much as the cheaper run of the mill Indy, but suck nonetheless.

TNA I still catch every now and again, RoH I have completely given up on, and as for smaller indies I still have friends working them so I go quite frequently. And for what it's worth, I use to wrestle in them...I even had dumbass marks come up to me and tell me I was better than anything in WWE. The sad thing is, I think some of the them actually meant it. Trust me, I've seen first hand the idiocy of marks looking to appear smart by going against the popular stuff. It's the same thing with music and movies.

That isn't to say talented guys aren't in the indies, it is just the best are in WWE.

If that's the case, then those marks are ridiculous and I agree with you. But, I for one don't think ROH sucks, so I guess that's where we disagree.

I'm going to change this and say the most refined and polished wrestlers are in WWE.

For the most part I agree, but I think there are some great mat-wrestlers that are in the indies (Danielson, McGuiness).

WWE guys have something that indy wrestlers don't. And when indy wrestler are brought to WWE they have to OVW to learn, showmanship. Because on the indy scene you have to put on the best match to get paid more, in WWE you just have to make people like you, and a lot of fans are not work rate freaks so they don't really care if you are Boogeyman or William Regal, just so long as you are entertaining.

But yeah WWE has the best roster of any other promotion in the world.

That made about as much sence as a dog humping a turtle.

There's no doubt about it, all the best wrestlers are in the WWE, all the best hockey players are in the NHL, all the best basketball players are in the NBA, all the best football players are in the NFL, all the best golfers are in the PGA.

And then by that extention, all the worst wrestlers are in Japan and ROH.

While there are some amazing workers in the indies, it's fun giving shit to the morons who fellate the indies because they're not WWE.

Then again, it's fun giving shit to the other side, too.

I second Mr. Pierre's question.

I understand your post was meant to be funny, but the only indie promotion pretending it is a national organisation is TNA, if you still classify them as indie. I don't, seeing as they have a weekly television show, some finances, a PPV deal and all that jazz.

It depends what you say when you mean indies, too. ROH, PWG and IWA-MS are some damn good promotions. They have their flaws (especially IWA), but they are much smaller than the flaws with the WWE. As KK often says in relationship to TNA "if they succeed, a large part of it will be because of the WWE's own stupidity." Taking that, I'm applying a similar philosophy to the indies. They might not be better than the WWE in all ways, but they certainly aren't as bad in others.

That being said, there are some damn talented wrestlers in the WWE. If they were on the indies, they would be the top guys there. See Brent Albright, CM Punk, Paul London, Brian Kendrick and Jamie Noble. Those guys have either gone from the WWE to ROH, or from ROH to the WWE. The common thread is this: They were all better in ROH. That is a mistake the WWE makes. They limit their talent so much, and that is why there is a lot of love for the indies from fans these days. If the WWE didn't censor its guys so much, they would be allow to be great, and people would see the independent scene as the minor leagues that they should be. As they are, it is the only place where you can see talent being appreciated for having talent.

There are so many talented guys in the WWE. There are also a lot of talented hacks. The WWE goes around signing bodybuilders with no experience, and slapping the label "Superstar" on them. If we are going by average and ratio, the major independents would easily have the edge, but if you're going by individual talent, and who are the most talented, I really have to side with the WWE guys.

The truth is, there are talented wrestlers everywhere. Seeing as we are discussing theories, I am going to discuss mine:

Independent wrestling's following in the last few years is because of the WWE's own stupidity, and their tendency to censor and limit their talented roster.

If the WWE was letting CM Punk cut his own promos, Paul London & Brian Kendrick fly, Jamie Noble wrestle, William Regal kill bitches, Nick Dinsmore not be retarded, and Eddie Fatu not have a lame gimmick, there wouldn't be as much craving to see guys elsewhere, not being limited and held back. The WWE is the bodybuilder turned wrestler show, at the moment, and until superb wrestlers are being recognised, people are going to look elsewhere for superb wrestlers.
