Apparently, Highlander: The Source is debuting on the Sci Fi Network in September, joiing such winners as MEgasnake and Mosquito.
How bad must it suck?
I saw it 3-4 months ago. Duncan has a new love again. The only recurring characters are Joe and Methos. Everything and everyone else is new. It started out good and had the potential to be good but it started sucking halfway to the end. I'll just say that I prefer the Highlander Anime over The Source.
Colin Macleod is a bad ass.

The anime looks gay as fuck. The Russian version of the film has been out for a while, but I've not bothered. Apparently, though, it's so awful nobody wants anything to do with it.

From what I hear the anime version is supposed to be really good. I'm not a fan of the art style either but if it has a good story then I'll give it a chance.

I liked the Anime movie...
I remember getting a phone call a while back from someone trying to sell me Highlander Seasons on DVD and mentioning that "The Source" would be hitting DVD soon. That was like 2 years ago.

I generally like the art more than the shows in terms of anime. It's not the style so much as the "Highlander in the future" shit we've seen from both Highlander 2 and Highlander: the Animated Series.
If you were to do a Highlander movie what would the story be? I just want the main character or one of main characters to be neutral or like an anti-hero immortal. No more goody goodies. Not so much like Methos but a guy with an edge. Well, a lot of people would probably love a Highlander movie to death starring Methos though.

Yep....I just read it yesterday that out of no where they decided to shove it on tonight...
Shows at 8 central with a encore @ 12 central time.
Got my tivo set for both of them just incase their is a problem with the first one. I cant wait for it...
Supposedly the leaked one I saw many months earlier is not finished and this one is the director's cut. I'm gonna watch it to see if there's any differences between the two.

The one you saw was finished.
However, if you've noticed, they retooled the last two Highlander movies after their releases, too. This probably is the director's cut, per se, but that's not to say the other version wasn't official before they decided to change things.
Shaggy, they've been advertising this for two weeks On Scif Fi, and gave it as the release date since before I made this thread. How is it out of nowhere?
Jura: I'd love to see a series with Dawson and Methos as was supposed to happen. As far as a movie, I'd rather see a bad guy who doesn't play by the rules. Kurgan, Kain, and Kell were all similar MOs. Especially Kurgan and Kain. Cause a little mayhem, but in the final fight, they were just swordfighters. Kell played mind games a little better, destroyed everything around you, and even used multiple immortals, but when it came down to it, he did the same thing. In fact, it was just like five or six different Highlander bad guys from the series, including Slan Quince (Who Connor was after) and Kalas. Really, at some point, the bad boys all playing by the same rules becomes tiresome. The closest you get to real cheating is Kain fighting on Holy Ground. Ooooooh.
The good guy doesn't need to change so much as the bad guy does. Hell, Connor was an ammoral bastard. Duncan, too, until modern times.
The Four Horsemen would have been a GREAT concept for a movie, especially with the potential for 4:1 fights and so on.
Not to mention, I'd like to see a movie that had Mac go back to the Highlands for something more than background. Like with the viking, only more epic.
Still, the game is only really fun as long as MacLeod adapts to it, and the story's been kind of done as-is. Teacher dies protecting MacLeod, bad guy makes threats, MacLeod isn't ready, MacLeod wins, rinse and repeat.

I havnt seen any advertisement about it. The first thing of advertisement I saw for it was during the credits of Bloodrayne tonight saying that Highlander: The Source was coming up next.
If it wasnt for the movie websites I went to then I wouldnt of had any clue it was even coming on tonight.
but with all that...
watched it...
The fight scenes were the only thing in this movie that I really had a problem with. The camera work for them was pretty much crap and I hated the whole blurry effect that they were giving to "The Guardian".
I missed out on the end of the Highlander TV series....but it seems that most of this movie goes off the final parts of the series.
The ending also threw me for a loop but the movie in whole wasnt that bad. Would of been a horrible movie if released in theaters so I applaud their decision to just release it on TV for now. I will probably end up picking the DVD up when it eventually gets released.
On a side note....the Queen covers were very laughable.

Good Lord, there are Queen Covers?
I'm only like 30 minutes into the movie, and it's fucking awful. The only reason I haven't turned this off, burned the disc, and pissed on the ashes, is that it's Highlander, and I'm morbidly curious. This is bad even for a Sci Fi "Original."
Oh, and I'm missing what this has to do with the end of the series.

Okay, heard the "Princes" cover. Jesus. This soundtrack is so bad, I could hear RDD listening to it.
Were there others? I tuned out on most of the music, because it was so godawful, but the lyrics I heard were NOT Queen.

Just wait till the end...but basically all the movies have ended with their not supposed to be another one, and yet we some how get a more disapointing sequel than the last one.

That's pretty tangential, I gotta say.
And this is written as though it were the last one. SHUDDER.
At least TFD and Endgame didn't definitively end anything.

I love watching the Highlander movies no matter how bad the sequels are...but part of me wishes they would of stopped after the first one. Then Highlander wouldnt be laughable anymore.

What?
The first movie is a massive joke.

Highlander:The Final Dimension and Highlander: Endgame were quite good.
