They need to have him constantly trying to get Regal fired or take Regal's position ala Starscream. Like a micro-fued or a subplot.

Yes better than the "McMahon's bitch" angle

Does he still do commentary on Heat? Or has Grisham inherited that job?
Coach is best when he's being humilated. Him and Regal work together and I like the idea of him trying to get Regal fired and it always going wrong.

I thought Heat was pulled altogether recently. Could be wrong though.
*Edit: I was wrong. Sorry. It's Coach & "Grish" (Todd Grisham) on commentary for Heat.

I don't mind Coach, as he is quite the good performer. He doesn't need to be feuding with anyone, though. If there is someone trying to take Regal's position, it should be Chief fucking Morley. Just have Val Venis drop the porn star thing, and ask Vince for a management job, and then have Venis constantly try and sabotage Regal, only for Regal to wise onto what he is doing, cue a feud between the two on the lower mid-card.
Like when Al Snow tried to appeal as a potential Commissioner of the WWE, only for Regal to snatch it out for him, only instead of a lead-in, this program evolves out from Regal's coming of power.
Melina and Daivari, both being (former) managers are another two entities that could be after the General Manager position. Regal can just be awesome to Melina, and make subtle implications about her sexual habits, and he and Daivari could do the whole wrestling thing.
Coach is fine as it is. He doesn't need more air-time. He still does Heat, but I think he should move away from that. Jack Korpela is doing colour for it this week, and I really wouldn't mind it if he stayed. He's not too bad, at all. Josh Mathews is another guy who should really be doing something, even over Korpela. Todd Grisham and Josh Mathews could handle it.

I like that idea. Val was great as Chief Morley, he has much more charisma than Coach. But this is the WWE. Since when was the most talented guy for the job ever appropriatly assigned?

Now see, you say things like that and I'm all  and then you turn around and say you enjoy Batista... I don't know what to think then.

If Regal is one of the suspended guys, do you think Coach will be "given" the job as GM, or just continue on as if Regal were simply "on holiday"?

The Coach is the one character that makes the most sense out of any of them on WWE television today. He started off as a backstage interviewer, got shit on by just about everybody (mostly The Rock), got sick of his position, and decided that the only way he was going to move up the ladder was by kissing the boss's ass all the way to the top. Now, he's got a cushier job, but the boss still shits on him. He still kisses ass, though. They've been consistent with him since day one, and he's really a pretty good performer if you ask me. I think the idea given in this thread would work really well.

Spoilers:
Vince McMahon takes the job. The spoilers call it "Commissioner," which could mean a return of that role, or just that the report used the incorrect term for General Manager. But yeah, it's Vince.

I'm going to assume you said this just to rile me up, because there is no way a smart person could ever think that. It's a shame, as I've always liked you, IC. :'(
