So, what are the odds for Dinsmore in TNA? Think they'll have him drop the retard gimmick completely with a lame shoot promo, or just re-hash it under a different name?

Maybe so, but why release him now? Why not pull the obvious, I'm not retarded anymore gimmick. You can get to it a few different ways, and why not send him to jobber heaven if it doesnt work out? I mean, he's been on TV alot, I'm sure a casual fan from the past 3 years would recognise him. Wasted opportunity.

They were using him alot in the OVW main event scene lately I think too.
For some reason that I don't quite understand, this release really sucks more than just a typical jobber being released.

That's just ignorant. Nick Dinsmore is one of the finest wrestlers in the WWE in terms of ability. That might or may not have something to do with his OVW training with Jim Cornette and Danny Davis. Either way it is completely pointless. The guy could come from CZW and be just as good.
It's a shame that they released him without giving him too much of a shot without the retard gimmick. TNA will probably call him, and offer him more money, but I'm really hoping he gets on the phone to Gabe and Cary first. The guy is fucking brilliant in the ring, and his time as Eugene, while pointless it may seem, has taught him how to play a character, and how to interact with crowds. He'd be all the better for it.
The WWE are retards for wasting his potential (pun intended), and I really hope he ends up in ROH. TNA is just too cluttered, and you'd know he'd end up with an even more retarded gimmick. Rob Conway is also free of his WWE contract, as is Doug Basham (who is now away from TNA, and who ROH have expressed interest in). I would not be opposed to seeing Gabe bring in both Basham and Dinsmore (and maybe Conway) for some tryout matches before ROH shows, and see how the fans react to them. Dinsmore and Conway made a fantastic team when they were The Lords of the Ring. The Briscoes need some competition.
If Dinsmore goes to ROH first, and earns some fanfare, I could see him jump to TNA when they get their shit together, as kind of a "Stone Cold" like babyface. No, not nearly as huge, and you're a fucktard if you interpret it like that. I don't even mean in character. I mean in terms of a talented worker that never got a chance to shine in one promotion, jumping ship to another, proving he's more than capable, and then entering yet another promotion and becoming one of their bigger stars.
I don't care what anyone says, Kurt Angle vs. Nick Dinsmore is one of those matches I would actually pay to see.

Part of me is thinking this may be a work, though, and I really hope it is. I mean, look at the exact statement from WWE.com:
"WWE has come to terms on the release of WWE Smackdown talent Eugene as of September 1. We wish Eugene the best in all future endeavors."
Something about that doesn't look right. Don't they normally refer to released wrestlers by their real name? Like Sylvain Grenier instead of plain, old "Sylvan?" When they released Goldust, I get the feeling it would have said something like Dustin "Goldust" Rhodes. That is just says "Eugene" makes me hope that they plan on using "Nick Dinsmore" in the future.
The WWE might start pushing actual wrestlers, and guys with talent, in the wake of this steroid shit. Maybe not right to the top, but I am hopeful this is just a way to get the dead gimmick off Nick Dinsmore, and use him in a more constructive way.

Or maybe this is the start of a heel turn when he gets some government group to demand that Eugene, despite his "handicap" can do the job.
They'll also sign Zach Gowen.

I was thinking of that, too. Or even worse, Eugene could reveal himself to be Vince's illegitimate son, and bribe his way back into the WWE.

Yesterday, World Wrestling Entertainment released Nick "Eugene" Dinsmore.
According to reports, Nick Dinsmore was surprised by the release. He was in the arena at last night’s ECW/SmackDown tapings in Cincinnatti, Ohio and was at the talent meeting before the event started which Stephanie McMahon conducted.
After the meeting, he was notified of his release and was apparently escorted from the arena.
Nick Dinsmore was not in the list of names listed by the media as being a Signature Pharmacy customer, however reports suggest that his release was due to a Wellness Program violation. Dinsmore was previously suspended in November 2005 due to violating the program.
----------------------
I can see how that turned out.
*Eugene walks up to Stephanie in character*
Eugene: HIIII STEPH!
Stephanie: Uhhh hi Eugene.
Eugene: Look what I can do!!! *touches his toes*
Stephanie: Uhhh that's nice, hey lis...
Eugene: YYYYooouu know who my faaaavorite cruiserweight is???
Stephanie: No, and frankly I don...
Eugene: *spits Kool-Aid on Stephanie* TAJIIIRRRIIII!!!! HAHAHAHA~! *dances*
Stephanie: ENOUGH! Nick, we're releasing you from your contract! I'd appreciate it if you leave the building.
*Eugene stops and turns into Nick Dinsmore*
Nick: What?

Im hoping they drop it...I remember when he turned heel for like a few weeks...I was hoping that he was just gonna start beating the shit out of people then start saying shit like he was faking it or perhaps a chair shot knocked him into normal state. Yes I know it would be a fucked up way to do it but who would remember after a few months anyway.

If he's gone for good, I say good for him. Dunno whether he'll make as much money, but at least he'd be allowed to wrestle again and not act like a retard.
If it's all a swerve to get him away from the retard gimmick, then good for him either way.
Does anyone remember that story a year or two ago when he got in trouble for breaking Kayfabe? Apparently a fan said to him "Nik you deserve better than this" and he turned and said "I know".

Boy you might be nearly as retarded as Eugene. You bitch to me about making ignorant comments, and then in the next breath bitch about how WWE never used him right. HELLO. I said I have no idea what these OVW marks on about him for. I didn't see his OVW work, all I've seen is Eugene. He could be god himself, but within the frame of the work I've seen of his, he sucks. But you're right, I should base my opinion of someone off of how good someone else says they saw him perform years ago and not off of what I've seen. I mean after all, what good is an opinion if it's not based on someone else's taste.
By the way, can anyone name me one, just ONE person who was hyped as being incredible and the minute they stepped foot in WWE and didn't make a big splash it wasn't blamed on WWE misusing them or on WWE watering them down?

I found Eugene to be very entertaining when he debuted, and that mini-feud with Triple H was honestly one of the better feuds in quite some time, but after that, the character ran its course very quickly. Hopefully everything works out for Mr. Dinsmore.

So you wish a guy doesn't earn a living because you, personally, are not knowledgeable enough of his work? I can understand you wanting the character gone, but it must be depressing to see guys you are impartial to suffering and getting relief out of it?
And no, I can't think of one person who has come into the WWE with good fanfare, and then gotten misused, and it not being blamed on them. Why? Because it is that they're being misused. How is Nick Dinsmore meant to wow you when slapped with a retard gimmick? He certainly didn't right them himself.
Don't do a Vermaat and claim that talent can do whatever they want, and that the reason they don't is because they are lazy, or they get complacent when signed to a WWE. You're better than that. It's confirmed fact that the agents plan out a wrestler's match, for the most part, and that their promos are completely scripted. A guy is obviously going to be less impressive because of these handicaps. Anyone without their writing hand will not write as well. People blame the WWE for their shitty policies which prevent guys who were capable from being as capable, because that's the way it goes down.

Ah, I see. After reading that report that Nick Dinsmore was surprised by it all, it's become apparent that it's not a work. I was just looking for hope, so now my biggest beacon is ROH. Dinsmore being a part of this Project 161 thing would be awesome, as he was abused in the WWE, and might be looking for a way to get his dignity back. I am just dreaming, though.

The guy isn't marginally talented. Hence your ignorance. If you don't know about the guy (as you said you don't), you can't accurately speak of his abilities, so you're incorrect for using specific terminology. No one said his job could be saved, I just think it's a dickheadish thing to say "Thank God" when a guy who you aren't familiar with loses his job.
"Hey, there was a massive bridge collapse today."
"Thank God!"
I'm not asking you to like the guy, I just think it's tasteless to wish harm on someone you don't know, just because he's successful. Bitter is your gimmick, but that doesn't mean one has to like it.

MKA did not really do justice to what could have been a franchise, and could have been done much better, but it was not nearly the worst movie ever created. It's kind of funny how bad some shots are, though.

That's the thing Noid, I am familiar with him. I've seen him for more than 3 years now. He's had high profile feuds with Hunter and been Tag Champ with Regal...neither one of those guys (both of whom I like very much) could make him appear half way decent. I KNOW the guy's work, I don't like him.
By your argument, nobody can dislike someone's music because we never heard them sing in the shower as a teenager. I've seen him, I don't like him. I don't like his mat work, I didn't like his character. And for someone who is a sociopath, even I can't draw connection between being glad someone who I didn't like it taken off my TV perminately to a birdge collapsing and odds are dozen of innocent people dying. Not that I would shed a tear for those dead people, and neither would you...unless you actually knew one of them.
Pro Wrestling is an industry full of people, all kinds of people, who appeal to all kinds of tastes. Thousands upon thousands of wrestlers are just waiting to get their shot in WWE. But only 120 or so are signed on at any given time, do you know what that means? That means that some have to go before these new guys get in. Maybe I'm the kinder one because I want someone who hasn't had the chance to shine get in there and get the big fat paycheck for a couple years. God, how cruel can you be, you want some guy on the indie, who you've NEVER EVEN SEEN to starve to death so that Nick "I play a retard and bitch about it while cashing my paychecks and never once thought to leave even though I hate it and deserve better, oh and by the way I'm a drug addict who WWE has already given a second chance to" Dinsmore can continue to work in WWE.

I just went through this with someone else in some other thread like a week ago...wishing death upon someone takes no effort, mental thought, and it doesn't increase the odds of them actually dying anytime soon. So why is it so terrible for a couple seconds to think about how you'd feel a smug sense of satisfaction IF they died?
By the way, I haven't been a practicing homosexual for some time and am willing to bet dollar to donuts i've fucked more women than you in the past week...call me a sociopath all you want, doesn't mean it's true, it means I'm actually honest about things...and I have never actually worn a wrestling artical of clothing EVER (not even my OWN shirt).
