Linkin Park is one of those "I liked them in middle school/high school" bands

They aren't bad. At least they are different the same generic British indy shit that is on every radio station here. I still like their older stuff too.

When they released Hybrid Theory, my 15 year old self thought it was the hottest shit ever. Now, meh. They're okay.

When Hybrid Theory came out, I wouldn't have liked Minutes to Midnight's style. Now, I'm not really that into the Hybrid Theory style or Meteora like I once was, but I love Minutes to Midnight.

Not to parrot everyone else, but I liked them when Hybrid Theory came out and that is it. I didn't exactly listen to good music back then.

The only real good stuff was Hybrid Theory and the Remix CD of it. Hybrid hasn't held up through being overplayed though.

Honestly though, the only saving grace they have is Mike Shinoda. Fort Minor > Linkin Park by far.

I'm a big fan, they were great live when I saw them and have changed there sound and it's still great.

I am quite a fan, I like the way they have changed and evolved. I dont enjoy the older stuff as mush as I used to but I can still turn it on when the mood strikes and really enjoy it.

I also really like the new sound they have developed in minutes to midnight. Its refreshing to have a band try new things and sort of stay with the age of the audience they broke into the bigtime with. I think mellowing it out a little has seen them evolve as a band.

Very cool

4/5

Sadly, they're the same generic American shit.

I liked the first CD, which was decent. The remix album had a couple of decent tracks, and I even searched out Hybrid Theory's EP. Meteroa was about 50% playing around with ProTools and about 25% music. The rest? I don't even know. It was out of control, though. It had its moments.

Minutes had a "superficial differences, same lack of substance" feel to it.

They're a mediocre band overall, but not without some charm. Despite the claims that they've changed, they haven't much. It's all window dressing.

It appealed to a lot of my friends, who were @20 when the first record dropped, so I picked it up by exposure to it. I'll probably still buy minutes when half.com starts getting copies for .75

i will give them a 3. I enjoyed the first album but never heard any of the others ones.

I say a three, I will however agree Fort Minor is light years ahead of them in terms of quality.

I would of said 5/5 up untill the release of their newest CD....because I hated the new CD so much it drops to 2/5

Its weird that every new CD that I have been waiting for these past few months have involved a band that has changed their sound...and sucked

back when they came out, my best freind in High school repped them like no other and got me into them heavy. I could name a few old songs like High voltage and Part of Me (AMAZING song) that were out back when they were called hybrid theory that were amazing as well.

I think that there still pretty good. people bitch about how hip hop is dead and when you bring up the remaining talented MCs left, you almost never hear mike shinodas name come up ever. The problem with them is that when they came out, the sound was so new and inventive at the time, that you KNEW the second album could suck big time if done wrong.

They handled this quite well by making the remix album which me and my freind repped HARDCORE as it was the PERFECT blend of hip hop and funk/techno. the 3rd and 4th albums were good to, but just couldnt hold a candle to either hybrid theory or reanimation.

I can honestly say that I liked a grand total of ONE LP song, ever. "Lying from You." I also want to point out that I only gave them a 1 because no negative numbers weren't better.

In essence, I liked LP alot more when they were called 311.

Hybrid Theory was okay. Nothing special but it had one or two half-decent songs.

Hybrid Theory was okay. Nothing special but it had one or two half-decent songs.

The main problem with HT was simply that the songs sounded so similar. Chord changes, beats, lyrical structures could be swapped out readily.

This was partially solved by the time they got to their second record, because they weren't so obvious about it.

I think more of HT would have popped if there was some level of actual difference between songs.
