What? UAV doesn't do shit really, and if you're good enough and playing with people you know you can pretty much keep the other team from getting a UAV for most of the game.

If you want realistic, play Team Hardcore. No HUD at all. It's just you and your gun. Mini-map shows up only if you get UAV. Thus if someone does an airstrike or gets a helicopter, you don't know where it is unless you have UAV. Likewise, it means people don't show up on map simply from firing a gun. There are no grenade indicators either. You have to pay attention to the noise they make, or see where they land and get the hell out of the way. Weapons do more damage as well. You can setup some weapons (the G3, which is a single shot) to be one shot kills. Just means you have to actually be a good shot.

The game is plenty realistic if you actually give it a shot.

I also once played against a team that ALL had UAV Jammer. It was pretty hardcore. Just completely random and the entire team was made up of all people in a party, and our team got shit on because it was a bunch of randoms.

Listen, I know everybody on my friendlist is on the thing 24/7, but 3hrs in the game and I found Live multiplayer to be a different flavor than I usually get into. I enjoy the extremes of Halo and Rainbow Six gameplay, but see CoD4 as a nice but unnecessary tour. Whereas I have a place for H3 and (eventually) RSV2, CoD4 rests in a middle ground (leaning toward RS or GRAW) that doesn't interest me. I knew about the hardcore settings as well as the classic and oldcore stuff, but with no I considered keeping it around until Vegas 2 came about and weighed the pros and cons. In the end I rather the game be in the hands of someone who'd enjoy more than I have.

To answer Blitz's question. It is way better than Vegas, and I was a god at R6: Vegas toward the end of my playing 'career' in it. Vegas had a lot of annoying glitches that unbalanced the game. Still a fun game, but nowhere near the fun that is CoD4.

Vegas was also pretty hard to be absolutely rape in it, but there was a huge gap in people that were bad and people that were good. I feel that in CoD4 there is a more balanced playing field, from those that just suck, to those who are alright, then getting better, and people who are just freaking amazing at the game. Which, IMO is a good thing. In Vegas, once you got the hang of a few of the game mechanics you could pretty much shit on anyone. In CoD4, there are less faulty game mechanics. I'm nowhere near as good in CoD4 as I was in R6:V, but I love the game so much more.

At the big x-box gaming center near here, all but like 3 or 4 people stopped playing Halo to play CoD4 now. Old players that had played the game since 1 came out, and used to worship the game have pretty much said "Halo 3 is dog shit compared to this game".

Don't own any consoles. All my experience comes from playing at game centers (in the past), or at friend's houses. That's probably part of the reason why I was better at R6 than I am at CoD4. I played R6 when there was a gaming center that my friend worked at, so I just went and hung out there and played whenever I wanted.. which was pretty much all the time. Now though, there aren't any around close enough so I don't get a chance to play very often. Assuming I get this job, I should have a 360 after my first paycheck.

Tried switching to some other weapons but I'm so accustomed to the SAW and my nice built-on red dot that I sucked horribly. Right so I got the final marksman challenge with the M249 SAW. Tried switching to some other weapons but I'm so accustomed to the SAW and my nice built-on red dot that I sucked horribly. Might stick with the SAW for awhile longer and try to get the headshot achievements though I've only got like 15 of them so far in all the time I've played.Ya that is the point pretty much. It is really easy to get the red dot for any gun though

Also I would like to say the best thing about this game is the pool area in Bloc, cause absolutely nobody goes there and its the best place ever. Always try to get my whole team in there

Hate that wet works level I have become a silencer whore to the point of shunning the desert eagle for a silenced pistol. Silenced M16 with stopping power and deep impact backed up by fragx3 is the bollocks.

I use a silenced AK47. It's strong enough not to need stopping power. Along with UAV Jammer and Dead silence it's great stealth.

I think shipment and bog are my favourite levels. Wet work is pretty good if you've got decent people backing you up. I'm now up to level 44 or something, completed a fair few of the killer and humiliation challenges last night too whoop whoop.

There's so many people out there who are so good. I don't really have the "discipline" to get really really good at games anymore. Even on shit like Guitar Hero, which I play constantly, I've got nothing on a really good player. When I play this like 9/10 players are like at least level 40 or something like that and here I am at level 3. All these guys have like P90s and UAV Jammer and Dead Silence and I just get slaughtered. Not so fun.

And yeah playing on any sort of team I feel bad about it because I am pretty much just fucking around and a lot of people are taking it serious. So I don't really like doing the team stuff either.

I remember going against people that where 40+ when I first started playing online. Was like, whoa i'm awful, then 2 days later I started winning and now im like, lol, these guys sux.

Kinda wish this game had an actual rating system instead of what it has.
