The Hornswoggle Era has begun in the WWE! And The 'Swog says...
Well I don't know what the 'Swog says but from now on I insist he be called The 'Swog. So The 'Swog is McMahon's bastard son. Is this the big push for The 'Swog that we have all been waiting for? What are everybody's thoughts...?

So you aren't excited about this new beginning for the WWE??? The 'Swog is heading straight for the top!
In reality, I guess this isn't too goddamn awful considering they had to run this storyline on the fly, with Kennedy being suspended and all. But I can't get over the fact that this was still such a waste of what was supposed to be a big angle.
They should have pushed hard as fuck for Jericho. That could have made for a shitload of great segments, whether Jericho actually sided with Vince as a heel or came in as a face.
In fact, that should have gone into a Jericho/Kennedy feud where it comes out that Jericho modified the papers to get a new contract or something.

It is like a jokes that goes on too long. Or more like a camp fire story being told by someone who can't remembers all they details and keeps going back to correct themselves. Then when you get to the end it is all like, ohhhh, well that sucked.

They dragged the whole thing out way too long to be a "joke". Reminds me of the Higher Power angle, lots of people talking...and then they let everyone down. It will be hard for me to get interested in the next "surprise" angle.
Also, even though it was "on the fly", ikt is a ready made push for ANYONE on the roster, at a time when they are in need of more guys to step up to the main event.
A real disappointment, but most of all, a real waste of an opportunity.

I understand that they had to scramble to come up with something in light of the suspensions, but honestly, this was the best they could come up with?

Yeah, this is pure shit. Kennedy getting suspended is not an excuse. It could have been anyone. Not only was this a bad outcome to the storyline, it was executed really poorly. Why would the mother not tell her son that she was suing Vince? Just bullshit. Awful angle with an awful payoff. The only way this will turn into anything decent, is if Jamie Noble beats Hornswoggle for the Cruiserweight Championship, and then becomes Vince's new favourite wrestler. Chances of that happening? 0%.
I'm honestly about to give up on the WWE.

I'm just preaching that it's just to stall the Kennedy/McMachon storyline. The "lawyer" was paid off by Triple H to fuck with Vince, which cost Kennedy a lot of money, just to find out in 20 something days that Kennedy is Vince's son.

And the writing team of the WWE will get triple their salaries and get a ten year extension for this angle.
Just sad.

They'll just officially forget this in a month or a few days. They'll probably forget to push Kennedy in any competent way while they're at it.

I'm honestly about to give up on the WWE.There's also the whole riddle scheme. What the fuck was that. Is Hornswaggle's mom the Riddler? When saying "Things are looking up." she would have officially referred to her son as a thing. The buildup was unbelievable as hell, since it would have been impossible for HHH's mom and Vince to not have met since Hunter and Steph are technically still married in kayfabe.
But I'm sure there are a thousand other things to be said about how bad this is. I'm sure they didn't care to much about how it was pulled off, so they tryed for a lol-comedy swerve. Basically indicative of the effort of the writing staff right about now.
Immediately upon seeing it I just thought "Damn, they're going to get away with this scott-free."

I haven't watched it yet, but god damn am I disappointed. If you guys have noticed, it takes a LOT to disappoint me. Fuck a suspension. Sometimes there are bigger things to deal with. They should have just let it be Kennedy.
Mercury Bullet
09-11-2007, 09:50 AM
I just had a thought...They should have went ahead and let it be Kennedy. AND then the lawyer says that his "client" has some court ordered injunction that bans Kennedy from appearing at any WWE event until Vince pays up.
There, now you have Kennedy as his son and a reason to be off TV the next couple weeks while Vince struggles with the legal system to get Kennedy back.
Anybody Thrilla
09-11-2007, 10:09 AM
That would be a good idea, but I think that the suspensions are supposed to be a "punishment". That way would just still be a push for Kennedy without him having to wrestle. I still think the suspensions are stupid, though.
Mercury Bullet
09-11-2007, 10:12 AM
Yeh, but do you think he won't be pushed at all now?
He just won't have the 'McMahon's Son' thing going for him. As soon as his suspension is over he'll be right back at the upper-end of the midcard on his way to main eventing within the next 6 to 9 months. This is merely delaying it by 30 days.

I agree. That's why I think the suspensions are stupid. They're supposed to be punishment, but it's more of a postponment. Isn't Morrison supposed to win the ECW title back upon his return? It makes zero sense to me.

Oh yeah, this whole angle had more holes than swiss cheese. 1) If someone is sueing you, then their name is going to be on the court papers, you can't sue anyone anonymously in the US.
2) As someone else said, wouldn't the superstar's mom have let him know she was sueing so their wouldn't be all this speculation.
3) Kane, Randy Orton, John Cena and Chavo shouldn't have been considered in this storyline as they all have had their parents established in kayfabe.
4) Is everyone in WWE a bastard child? Because that is what they were suggesting at one point.
5) HHH should have known he wasn't the bastard son from the get go. His mom would probably have let him know that he has been screwing his half sister, unless his mom is some horrible bitch.
6) The what the fuck was with the riddles, why wouldn't they just come out and say who it is? No lawyer would mess around with that bullshit.

Yeh the suspension are a terrible idea unless they actually enforce punishment beyond the time off TV. A better punishment would probably be to keep them on TV and bumped down the card and/or out of an important storyline.

Interesting point. But that would cost a lot of money to test the entire roster. It would have been better to narrow down the field, which is another thing they never did, infact they seemed to take every oppertunity to expand the field.
Also, Coach's back ground check was absurd. And having all the McMahon's out last week was pointless.

Another thing is why did Vince start telling the lawyer he hates him when he showed up. Also, how did the lawyer get to use the titiantron? He would have come out with a microphone or something. And it sure as hell would have been handled privately. Infact I'm almost positive that they would have been contacting Vince's lawyers and Vince's lawyers would have contracted him in return. Which leaves another plot hole, where the hell were Vince's lawyers during all of this?

In real life, you wouldn't let the fate of a company ride on a match, or sacrifice your own daughter. Proof of a fraud marriage would be enough to not require the signature of the man who faked it in order to annul/divorce. Cameras everywhere would be understood, and people would not make secret confessions in front of them. We would never seee through a character's eyes, and Austin would have been put in jail like 9 times over.
Guys, shut the fuck up about real life. In real life, the finishers generally used would be less effective than the armbars and wristlocks used as warmups. Nobody would be stupid enough togo to the top turnbuckle, and nobody would stand around, "dizzy," waiting for a Kane/Taker/Big Show chokeslam. FFS, WWE mirrors real life only in the most general sense.

This reeks of "Cerebral Assassin" to me. As we've never actually seen the supposed "mother" in this storyline, it could very easily have been a plot by HHH and Stephanie (who, we could presume, got back together in secret sometime around the time the DX part 2 business started) to punish Vince for A) giving HHH shit during the DX storyline, B) faking his death and shitting on his family. The 'Swog will spend the next few months humping Vince's leg while HHH feuds with WWE Champion Orton, eventually winning the belt, around the same time that Vince discovers that the whole thing was a sham. Vince, seeing Kennedy as a victim of his "worst enemy" HHH, reconciles with him, and they can go on with what I think I heard was the plan for Vince to first get revenge on Shane via Kennedy, and then have the supposedly planned HHH vs Kennedy at Wrestlemania.
I'm going to shut up now before I start sounding like Alienoid.

Will this work out to be a way to push Finlay? What does this mean for Jamie Noble's title shot? Has Vince rethought his only push 'roided out freaks theory now that he has a midget son? All these and other questions will be answered if the writters can remember too on the next exciting edition of Raw!
Hornswoggle is the kind of gimmick that writers get bored of / stuck for ideas with. The 'Swog will probably be sacked within the year. My point being: if they continue with The 'Swog as the son, the writers must be on another planet (hmm) as he has no main event status

Yup it's all gonna come out as BS. and whoever is set up for the next big feud with McMahon will be the culprit.
Be it HHH, Kennedy (though I doubt this!), Jericho (if he returns - more probable than Kennedy being the culprit) or some other guy who is around then who was free to fuck it all up for Vince now (like HHH is now).
Or they could just balls it up and let someone else run with it. But I doubt this is gonna stick for long. It's gonna come out as a wind up on Vince.

Anyway, I'm pretty sure any casual interest in this angle died with the Leprechaun.
It doesn't matter where the angle goes from here, the revelation was the "moment of truth" for most people. Think "Katie Vick." Not because it's horrible and disgusting and they should die for coming up with it, etc., but because any interest brought in by the hype died the moment the revelation came. I betcha the overrun ratings were up last night (I'm assuming it was the end of the show), because people wanted to know. But now, who gives a shit?
