I had fun watching my friend spend about an hour trying to download a virtual console game. Then when he finally gets to the game he wants, an error message popped up. He trys again for about another half hour, and another error message pops up when he trys to buy points. It was hilarious watching stomp around and curse.
An hour to download a game no more than 128mb, more than likely 5-10mb? :wtf:

I've never had any problems downloading Virtual Console games.
And they seem to download quicker than stuff off Live Marketplace, which is incredibly slow a lot of the time.
I would blame the person, not the machine.

Yup. I have personally witnessed VC d/ling rather quickly. If anything's wrong with the Wii's online capability, it's that it gets borked out pretty badly by Flash cartoons.

tbh The system was going through the menus pretty quick, it was just everytime he got to "categories/systems" (or whatever it is, it'd take incredibly long and then give him an error message.

I downloaded Sonic the Hedgehog 3 last night and it took literally under 45 seconds. Though I did download an SNES game a few months ago and it took a few minutes.
Most likely it was the connection.

No problems here, I hear setting your router to channel 1 or 11 helps.

Nintendo's online mode is laughable, but more because games which are being promoted as online are not, because Nintendo didn't want to release their precious code. Because of the lack of any real online presence. Because they seem to be discouraging any real connectivity.
Not because of some stupid error that was probably the user's fault.

Look at it this way, Jesus Fly: The thread was created by someone who thinks they REAL problem is that VC games take forever to download. He needs a dose of "teh obvious."
Did you hear, BTW, that Nintendo cancelled the HDD?
Douchebags.

Not a surprise. They're doing everything they can to jerk off casual gamers. How many more fucking Brain Ages can they put out?

How many Mario games did they put out? Add a one and two zeroes to that....
They will milk it until it's no longer profitable, and then, they will continue to milk it.
And just when you think they've finished milking it, BAM! More milking!

Then you'll love "Super Mario Milkers" for the Wii! For the first time, realistic milking controls on a console!

Mario is the icon of Nintendo. Of course they're going to continue making games with him.

Too bad they're not as focused on their hardcore fanbase, as dwindling as it is these days. I suppose as long as grandpa and the kiddies are down for some Wii Play and Nintendogs, it's never gonna stop.

It's kind of too bad the Wii is selling like it is with almost no support. Most of the games blow, and they promised a ton of equipment that never will happen, along with thigns like the Zapper which are not only late, but poorly thought out. COME ON.
yea i haven't been impressed with any games so far, minus THE ONE IT COMES WITH.
i haven't played with my Wii in over a month :(

Yeah, Wii Sports is probably the best game, and it's a free tech demo. It's a shame. I only own three actual Discs:
Zelda, a game intended for the GCN
Metal Slug Anthology, a collection of ports
Super Swing Golf, which I understand is not an original title.Everything else, I got from the VC (Nothing new) or rented and have up on.
