From Dark Horizons.com

MortalKombat Online recently investigated the current status of the much rumored "Mortal Kombat 3" and fans won't be happy with the outcome. First up, New Line head honcho Bob Shaye whose company released the first two films indicated they won't be involved in the third film - "We no longer have any subsequent rights".

Screenwriter and all round legend Drew McWeeny says "I have no idea if the film will be made or not. At one point, it was a priority for Threshhold Entertainment, and that was before MK: DA became a hit or MKVI was released. That said, MK: DA was a hit, and if our film resembles any of the source material in particular, it's that game. I'd say there's a good chance they're still planning to make it, especially since it sounds like they have worked out all their previous problems.

When I worked on it, it went through many different names. MK3 was always the working title we went back to. I don't think they've decided yet what they want to call it....Word is, they're untangling those rights now finally and plan to move forward with the film. I seriously doubt we'll be doing any further work on it at this point, and I'm not sure what script they'll finally put in front of the camera"

With the new MK game on its way, just thought I'd pass this info along in case anyone was wondering about it.

The films are f</>ucking awful, they're barely good in a 'so bad they're good' way.

I loved the first one. Its one of my favorite movies. The second one sucked alot of ass. It had to be one of the worst sequals to be made off a really good movie.

As for Mortal Kombat 3. I heard that it was gonna be called Domination and also a going around was that they were either in the works or already Hired Trish Stratus to play the part of Sonya Blade. Hopefully they will get the original Luu Kang back.

Nothing short of Jesus H. Christ himself in the starring role could save this franchise.

The 1st one ruled IMO.

The 2nd one sucked IMO.

The 3rd one will probably suck as well, but I'm a huge Mortal Kombat mark. Hence - I'll watch it.

There also seems to be a 99% correlation in regards to me watching Trish Stratus and my penis erecting. Hence - another reason to watch this movie. :y:

First was pretty decent as far as those type of films go, plus Christopher Lamber kicks ass.

The second was absolute shite.

As for a potenial third: All in all whatever, I'll check it out but I'm not going to be overly looking fowards to a new one

The thing that made me mad about the second one was that the movie began with bloopers already installed. As in that if it takes place right after the other one why isnt the people wearing the same clothes. Also it made me mad that they replaced half the orignal cast. Or better yet most of the original cast. And they made the horrible thing of Killing of Johnny Cage in the beginning. Damn Mortal Kombat 2. I hate that movie so damn much.

They weren't the best movies in the world. But they were pretty entertaining

For videogame movies, MK is one of the better ones out there. It could have been better, but I am happy with what we got. MK2, however, makes me sick just thinking about it.
