View Full Version : I don't like gimmicks ontop of gimmick matches

If it's a cage match, just let it be a fucking cage match. No need to electrify the steel or make the cage out of bamboo. Also, things like TLC matches...uh...all it is, is a ladder match. There is no rule saying that they HAVE to use chairs or tables, and conversely there is no rule saying they can't use chairs or tables in a ladder match. I just don't understand why promoters think that if they throw a gimmick on top of a gimmick, it will make it better. The only exception to this rule that I could think of was Hell in a Cell, but even there, they at least changed the position and style of the cage.

Also, I hate when they do dumb shit like rename a No DQ/hardcore match to a "____ Brawl" or they give an old style of match a new name to match the gimmick of the wrestler. That just makes me want to dropkick someone's face in.

Uh... :shifty:

Edit: Ok, not exactly "brawl", but still a rename.

Technically, No DQ means they can't get disqualified and hardcore means they can pin anywhere. I guess they just renamed Falls Count Anywhere to Hardcore, but still, I'm a hypocrite and I don't mind that one name change they made.

I like ladder matches, cage matches, hardcore matches. TLC matches in WWE are always great (I don't remember there being a bad one. There could have been though). I don't want to see an electrified cage match, or a cage match with barbed wire on top. The TLC match is the only gimmick on gimmick match that I've enjoyed (but they should be few and far between, and I'd say have more than 2 people in one).

I don't watch PPVs so I rarely get to see shitty gimmick on gimmick matches.

It's all about 'oneupmanship'. It got really out of control for awhile. Thankfully we have John Cena now to bring us all down to earth, yo.

I pretty much agree with The One.

Also, we need to stop putting shit on poles. I'd much rather watch 12 straight Kennel From Hell matches than 1 ____ on a pole match.

Pole matches were always lame, though.

Just come out and say it, you hate TNA. On top of that, I think it is pointless to have more than 2 gimmick matches on a ppv, or more than 3 at the royal rumber...gimmick matches should be used to accent a fued, not just willy nilly. It is like have steak and lobest for every meal. It will get old.

Do we still end every match with interferecne?

Bamboo cage match? How did I miss that?

For real, though, we need a ladder made out of lighttubes, four solid walls of glass surrounding the ring, surrounded by the cage from the Elimination Chamber. The cage would be electrified. Everyone would be handcuffed, and have miniature bamboo cages built around their heads. Also, there would be rabid pandas let loose in the ring once everyone's out of their chambers, the insides of which are being slowly filled with methane gas. Also, there would be spiked pit traps, and something would have C4 strapped to it, but the wrestlers wouldn't be told prior to the match. It'd be a surprise. Also, the pandas would be lit on fire.

If Don West and Jim Ross weren't on commentary, the entire match would be worthless.

OH, and Khali needs to be involved, so we can slap the word "Punjabi" in there somewhere.

i do agree that if James Ross wasn't commentating, alot of matches wold be worthless
